Wood Wood x Nike Lunar Wood+

Posted: 31 Dec 2009 12:28 PM PST

wwnikelunar-lead

The hybrid model and collaboration with Wood Wood from Nike has been hitting the shelves at various retailers lately, including UBIQ in Philly in a matter of days. If you recall from the last time we checked out this shoe, it’s a mixture of the ACG Wildwood with the Lunar line of runners.

The upper uses black throughout, including the extra sturdy forefoot mudguard, designed to be protective and waterproof. The ACG roots even show through on the Lunar sole, which uses boot-style grooves for traction. If you haven’t already grabbed a pair, now is your chance.

Nike KD2 "Creamsicle"

Recently, we showcased the debut of the Nike KD2 “Creamsicle” in our Kicks On Court. The majority of you agreed that the Nike KD2 is a step up from the Nike KD1. With that said, check out these detailed photos of the Nike KD2 “Creamsicle”.

At a first glance, you can tell why this particular sneaker is nicknamed the “Creamsicle” because of its colorway. However, the color scheme is not the only reason this shoe is special. As seen in the photos after the jump, this KD2 is entirely reflective because of its 3M treatment. It also has additional, distinctive feautres such as the cement print-like texture on the midfoot strap, a mesh, honeycomb-like design on the tongue and royal blue Nike/Kevin Durant logos on the heel, swoosh and outsole. What are your thoughts on the Nike KD2 “Creamsicle”?

Kalavinka x adidas Samba

Kalavinka x adidas Samba

adidas has put in a lot of effort into representing cities all over the world with their Consortium “City Series” Collection, with Tokyo retailers and artists playing a large part. Kalavinka is the next in line with this Samba, having taken a classic soccer shoe and transformed it into a cycling sneaker.

White leather comprises the upper on these, with a hit of grey nubuck on the toe cap. Royal blue stripes appear on the mid-panel, and a strip of multiple colors is used on the heel. The design element you probably notice first is the large lace cover flap, which is part of the cycle-readiness conversion of these. These have hit select retailers, including mita.

DJ Premier x Nike Air Force 1

Veteran to the game DJ Premier was blessed enough to get to design a Nike Air Force 1 with his name on it. You may not be so blessed, but you now have a chance to grab his at least. Thanks to a heads up from Daily Drop, you can grab these now.

Black leather and suede work on the toe, heel and midfoot, while a deep green fills in the remainder of the upper. Laser-etched on the heel are “DJ” and “Premier” on the left and right shoes, respectively, as well as a logo on the forefoot. Golden yellow contrast stitching also breaks up the dark build of these, as it appears all over the upper. Finally, an icy clear sole finishes this design off.

Nike Air Force 1

Last week, we notified you of the Futura x Nike Air Force 1 High Premium Black being available at Dunk in which many of you liked a lot. How does it compare to the recently released matte silver Futura x Nike Air Force 1 High Supreme?

It features a predominately matte silver-colored base combined with a transparent outsole. The upper is heavily perforated from the side panels to the heel panel. This sneaker also owns monochromatic accents in the form of the swoosh and shoelaces; however, its most distinctive attribute is the previously mentioned outsole. Nike SB Bruin Navy/Red

Posted: 30 Dec 2009 12:28 PM PST

Nike SB Bruin Navy/Red

The classic Nike Bruin in SB form was chosen as Complex’s #9 Sneaker of 2009. Many of you disagreed, naturally. But even if you did, you can’t deny the appeal of a simple and clean colorway in any shoe, which is what we see here in this navy and red sneaker.

Navy blue suede is draped from toe to heel on these, with matching stitching throughout. White laces pair up with the vulcanized sole, while a red leather Swoosh matches up with the liner. These may not be the same as the blue Bruins DJ Clark Kent highly praises in the above video, but we’re sure he’d appreciate this darker shade of blue. These are out now so if you happen to appreciate them, your local SB dealer should have these.

Air Jordan 6 "Detroit Pistons" Detailed Photos

The reception for the Air Jordan 6 “Detroit Pistons” has been less than warm since we first caught a glimpse of it. And until now, lo-res photos and unflattering images are all that we have seen. Things are changing today though, as we get a detailed look and notify you that they’re available early at marqueesole.

We already know about the construction of the upper–nubuck and patent leather–but these photos better show the quality of the materials. We also get a better look at the splatter on the blue portions of the midsole, which makes them more intentional and methodical than when last viewed. These photos should serve to fuel the debate about these sneakers, and maybe change some opinions.

Part of the focus for the next line of goods was to accent neutral colors with bright ones, including blue and orange specifically. Frank Rudy, Inventor of Nike Air, Passes Away

Nike Air Sole Technology Inventor Passes Away

Nike has developed an abundance of innovative technology over the years and incorporated them into some of our favorite sneakers. Frank Rudy, the inventor of Nike Air Sole Technology, passed away earlier this month at his home in California.

Rudy, who was 84 at the time of his passing, was best known as one of the lending hands in helping Nike conquer the footwear industry.

“Frank Rudy holds a singular place in the pantheon of Nike innovation,” Mark Parker, president and chief executive of Nike, said in a written statement.

“His relentless creativity and focus on solving problems was, in many ways, the template for how Nike pursues performance to this very day.”

Frank Rudy invented the Nike Air Sole Technology in the late 1970s and first incorporated it into a running sneaker in 1979.

Ben Walby, a family friend said, “He wasn’t one to shy away from the ultimate challenge. The bigger the problem the more complex the problem, the deeper he dug in.”
