Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage Medium Grey/Vivid Pink

Posted: 29 Aug 2009 10:13 AM PDT

Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage

There were mixed remarks on the Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage "Electric Green" that we showed you yesterday afternoon which we expected; it is definitely not a sneaker for everyone. However, if the flamboyant look does not suit you well, the aforementioned Vandal’s counterpart possesses a more subtle look.

Sure, this Vandal High also possesses the classic, vintage sole, yet, what happens above the sole is totally different from the “Electric Green” Vandal High. This particular sneaker owns a subtle yet stylish medium grey-colored nylon upper with minimal vivid pink accents in the form of the border of the swoosh, the Nike logo (tongue) and the ankle strap. The latter area also seems to contain a shade of orange to it as well. This Vandal High Supreme will also release in February 2010. Which colorway interest you more? Remembering DJ AM

Posted: 29 Aug 2009 06:53 AM PDT

Remembering DJ AMBy now I am sure that you have heard the tragic new of the unfortunate passing of Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM.  While many of us may know Adam for his large collection of shoes and being a Hollywood liason for the sneaker community, AM was an incredible person that is worthy of more than a moment of pause and thought.

Countless people experienced his inspiring performances as a DJ, but his recent mission as a recovering addict to help other families and friends intervene with addiction deserves the ultimate praise.

We have assembled a few photos of DJ AM along with some video moments showcasing his passion for sneakers, his passion for shoes, and a short piece that shows his struggle as a recovering addict to help others in desperate need.

Please keep Adam’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers this weekend.

Adam, may you forever rest in peace.

Air Force Friday: Mayor’s Pick Linen/Atmosphere

Posted: 28 Aug 2009 07:15 PM PDT

Air Force 1 LinenFor today’s Air Force Friday, we have enlisted the help of our friend, Mr Bespoke himself, Mayor.

When asked to choose his top rated Air force One, he chose the “Linen/Atmosphere” Air Force 1 which was released only in Japan in 2001, and licked by Fat Joe on Cribs, in America a few years later.  Every true shoe lover has a story about how they obtained their favorite shoe, and this is his. In 2001 when the Linens dropped, Mayor saw a picture somehow (he is almost 37 so that memory is kinda fuzzy) and went crazy! One may believe it was by luck, or even by fate that at the same time as the release Mayor had a friend that was working in Japan that was trying to find a way back to the states. Mayor being the good friend he is offered to buy him a plane ticket home, in return for 3 pairs of the Linen forces. After all was said and done, Mayors friend was finally able to return home, but was only able to get one pair of linens for his good friend.

Recently Mayor picked up his 7th pair from his buddy Surage for a not so bad price of $355. Because even though Mayor has had 7 pair, he is still always on the hunt for that deadstock pair of Linen/Atmosphere forces in that convenient size 9.5 because he wont wear a pair unless he has a deadstock pair on ice. Now that is what I call loving a shoe. Also follow us and Mayor on Twitter at @nicekicks and @_MAYOR_ and Mayors 500th follower will receive a free pair of the Swagger Terminator Hi’s. (click here for more pics.)

Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage “Electric Green”

Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage Electric Green

Are you tired of seeing the recent inflation of Dunks and Blazers as of late? Some of you may feel that Nike should keep them coming, while others want to see something fairly new. With that said, Nike is bringing the Vandal High back after a little hiatus in an unmatched, attention-getting colorway. This Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage “Electric Green” is expected to release in February 2010.

We must applaud Nike for being innovative with the infamous Vandal by way of color scheme. In attempt to mix ‘old’ and ‘new’, Nike applied a futuristic electric green color to this Vandal’s nylon base and combined it with an age-old-looking vintage sole. It also contains a black border around the swoosh and a black/grey ankle strap. Nonetheless, this particular shoe will be nothing less than a hit when it finally releases. Also, look out for its colorway counterpart coming soon. What are your thoughts on this Nike Vandal High Supreme Vintage “Electric Green”?
