This Week in Sneaks

Jay-Z’s “All-Black Everything” line on the ‘Run This Town’ song is arguably one of the most talked-about lines in a long time. Since then, we have spotted a lot of people wearing all-black. If you are one of those, we have created an "All Black Everything" Buyers Guide to assist you.

Check out Miami Heat forward Quentin Richardson hooping in one of the major Jordan holiday releases and Allen Iverson debuting his latest signature sneaker in our Kicks On Court.

Also, take a look at some of your favorite celebrities such as Jay-Z, Wale, Pharrell and Omarion in our Celebrity Sneaker Stalker.

If you recall, we informed of an Air Jordan “Motorsports” Pack releasing during the latter part of 2009. However, as time went by, it became evident that this pack would not hit retailers. Check out detailed photos of the Air Jordan “Motorsports” Pack.

We have seen an abundance of Nike Air Max LeBron VII colorways, and we will continue to see more. However, is the Nike Air Max LeBron VII “Red Carpet” the best colorway yet?

What is on your early ‘Definite Purchase’ list for 2010? We’re sure the "Copper" Nike Air Foamposites that Wale has been sporting is at the top of the list somewhere, right?

This week, we received detailed photos of the upcoming Nike Zoom Kobe V. What are your thoughts on both the “Chaos” and the ‘Away’ colorways?

Air Jordan 2 Retro Detailed Photos

Posted: 07 Nov 2009 10:28 AM PST

Air Jordan 2 Retro Detailed PhotosWe got a look at 2010’s Air Jordan 2 Retro release awhile back, and the reception was immediately positive. This AJ2, as we know, will be dropping in an all white colorway with a bit of silver throughout.

3M reflective material is also used throughout, including areas on the tongue and heel. This is by no means the first time we’ve seen 3M on a Jordan retro. Surely you recall the AJ5 “Toro Bravo” Pack, which featured an entirely reflective pair, as well as a tongue on the other pair. For this Retro 2, white leather is used for the remainder of the upper, with perforated holes making a stripe along the forefoot.

These are expected in 2010, along with a number of other Jordan Retros. Are you planning to grab a pair?

Nike Hyperdunk Low

Nike Hyperdunk Low

Have you forgotten about the Hyperdunk seeing that the Hyperize and Hypermax have been pushed to the forefront of Nike basketball? The Hyperdunk is not gone just yet. Matter of fact, it will never leave. Recently, photos of a low-cut Hyperdunk hit the web to many people’s surprise.

It simply features the same design as the original Hyperdunk, yet it possesses a lower cut a la Kobe IV. However, this is not the first Hyperdunk Low we have shown you. If you recall, we showed you the Nike Hyperdunk Low “Marty McFly” this past summer; many of you expressed a great amount of interest in it. With that said, what are your thoughts about this black/red-white pair? Better yet, what are your thoughts about the silhouette as a whole? Look for the Hyperdunk low to hit retailers in 2010. Nike Big Nike High Dark Grey/Metallic Silver

Nike Big Nike High Dark Grey/Metallic Silver

The Nike Big Nike, which many look at as the Dunk Junior, is continuing to roll out, as we’ve seen numerous colorways for both this year and next. This grey colorway we see here is for the former, as it’s currently available at select retailers. These take a cue from the Eddie Cruz AF1s, using a reptile print throughout.

The toe cap area is made up of grey suede, while white leather is used for a good option of the upper. Contrasting the white is a grey reptile material throughout the mid-panel. A metallic silver Swoosh is used to really accent the darker shades used throughout, including the liner and tongue.

Are you a big fan of the Big Nike?

Air Force Friday: DJ Clark Kent Black Friday’s

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 02:58 PM PST

Air Force 1 black friday

Thanksgiving and Black Friday are only a few weeks away. Therefore, what better time to revisit the shoe that many sneaker lovers where thankful to receive last November, the DJ Clark Kent Black Friday Air force Ones. DJ Clark Kent is no stranger to making dope Air Forces. He created this upcoming Premium release, the 112 pack Air Force One, and the 2009 NBA All-Star Forces just to name a few. So why would these be any different?

The Black Fridays had the sneaker world buzzing about a shoe that was never seen until its release date; Bun B even wrote a song about the hype for the Black Friday Mixtape. On the morning of November 28th 2008, everyone who anticipated this shoe was pleasantly surprised to see the black pony hair-covered shoe that sat atop a lenticular midsole. Will Clark cook up another shoe for this year? Only time will tell, but we hope so! Click here for more.

If you want your Air Force Friday story on the site, you have to do three simple things. First, become a Nice Kicks friend on Facebook. Secondly, become a member of the Nice Kicks group on Facebook and thirdly, send your story along with a picture of you with the shoes to info@nicekicks.com and title the subject Air Force Friday. Click here for more.

STPL x Airwalk discounted to $10

Posted: 06 Nov 2009 02:44 PM PST

STPL x Airwalk Terrain Skate Hijeffstaple had many heads scratching their heads when his partnership with Payless Shoes owned Airwalk was announced late last year.  Though there has been a recent trend of highly respected designers working on lower cost lines, it had yet to be done in the sneaker world.

With limited collaborations, the entry price of obtaining a Staple Design product or “pigeon” product has been far out of reach of many, but with the recent price reduction of several STPL x Airwalk shoes, most should be able to obtain a pair.  Full size runs are currently available for $10 a pair at Payless.
