| Distinct Life x New Balance 30 For 30: Day 2 (NB 999 Black/Grey-Yellow) Posted: 02 Jun 2011 12:57 PM PDT Distinct Life’s Rick Williams continues his 30 for 30 campaign in collaboration with New Balance. Following yesterday’s New Balance 501 Red/White-Navy, Williams’ weapon of choice today is the New Balance 999 in a Black/Grey-Yellow color scheme. Specifically, the majority of this pair is constructed of grey suede and features minimal yellow hints, namely the New Balance logo border and sections on the heel panel. New Balance also incorporated a black toe box, black laces and a black inner lining for subtle color contrast. | LeBron James to Open Retail Store – UNKNWN Posted: 02 Jun 2011 12:23 PM PDT Although LeBron James is on a serious hunt for his first NBA Championship, the seven-time NBA All-Star continues to handle business and amplify his brand off of the court. In detail, LeBron James is set open a retail store in Miami titled UNKNWN (the word “unknown” without the “o”). This modern, luxury concept store is expected to open its doors in the fall of 2011 and will carry brands such as OriginalFake, A.P.C. and Nike Tier Zero. This Air Jordan 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14 mash-up incorporates elements from each signature shoe including the huarache inner sock, fuzzy tongue logo, velcro strap, “TWO 3″ branding, panther paw outsole and much more. Today, a new colorway has been spotted that is sure to turn a few heads. The colorway features a predominately black mesh upper highlighted with a carbon fiber-like mudguard. White and grey accents on the midsole and heel cup finish the pair off and match perfectly with the lone metal lace-eyelet. Look for this pair to release in the near future at most Jordan Brand retailers. | Can You Dig It? A Sneaker Tribute to Shaq Diesel Posted: 02 Jun 2011 12:01 PM PDT Yesterday the one and only Shaquille O'Neal announced his retirement via Twitter. The larger than life icon did so in a nonchalant manner, but the man of many quotables has a career that speaks for itself. Having played with the likes of Penny, Kobe, Nash, Wade, and LeBron, Shaq has always been in a league of his own. Though slowed by toe injuries and taco neck syndrome, Shaq has done it all on and off the court with a smile on his face. Today we celebrate the career of the league's most charismatic star by retracing his footprints. LA Gear KAJ Shaquille O'Neal in the LA Gear KAJ Before he was Wilt Chamberleezy he channeled another Laker legend. A young Shaquille rocked Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's number, colors, and kicks at LSU. Black leather and mesh combine for a sleek overall look on this particular pair, while white and grey accents on the midsole, inner liner, lace eyelets and toe box, provide just enough contrast for the naked eye to notice.
