Converse Chuck Taylor “Leather Jacket” x Schott Leather

Posted: 04 Dec 2010 09:42 AM PST

Converse will be releasing a Schott Leather version of its Converse Chuck Taylor "Leather Jacket" sneaker this winter season.

“With deep roots in American style and culture, the Schott NYC jacket and the Chuck Taylor All Star shoe have led somewhat parallel lives. Converse began in 1908 and Schott in 1913 and as the part of the 20th Century unfolded, Chuck Taylor All Star shoes were unveiled and quickly became nearly ubiquitous in American life. Not long before Chuck Taylor added his name to the already then famous All Star shoe, in 1928, Schott unveiled the first motorcycle jacket ever. Named the "Perfecto", by the 1950s, the jacket had become a symbol of the new rebellion that was taking hold with the burgeoning teen culture that arose after the War.”

“Referenced in classic film and television— the uniform of the rock and roller, the hoodlum and the rebel often wore a pair of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes and a black Schott Perfecto leather jacket. Likewise, as the punk rock movement swept the streets of downtown New York City and beyond, a Schott leather jacket and a pair of Chucks became synonymous with the scene. Today, both Schott and Converse connect with the American spirit and represent the individualism that both brands have embodied throughout the decades.”

Check the gallery below for more sneaker preview. The Converse Chuck Taylor "Leather Jacket" x Schott Leather kick will release exclusively at Converse First String retailers on December 15th, 2010. $200.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI Duke Preview
Aside from their own team shoe, Duke University take some of their own Nike Zoom Kobe VI flavor. The Kobe VI “Duke” features a royal blue snakeskin texture on its upper, a white hued Swoosh and Kobe’s logo on the tounge, and a black set-off player working on the tongue and heel counter. The blue spirit of Duke also appears hard on the lacing system and liner. Though Kobe didn’t have the chance to play for Duke basketball team, this shoe serves as pay of good respect for his dreamed college team back in the days.

Nike Air More Uptempo Black/White

Shame on ever fan in the Quicken Loans arena chanting Scottie Pippen implying that he was anything less of historic or amazing.

Last time I checked the man won 6 rings and lead our country to gold twice in the OIympics – absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

The Air More Uptempos didn’t have Scottie’s name or number on the box or the upper, but ask anyone young and old – these shoes were the Pippens.

Nike Dunk High Black/Red

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 05:13 PM PST

Nike Dunk High Black/Red

While the title may suggest an all too familiar colorway and all too familiar silo, the Nike Dunk High Black/Red is a subtle standout. Classic Dunk styling and color blocking are intact, but it’s the texturized upper that sets it apart. Tumbled red leather graces the heel, tongue, and toe pieces with embossed black leather set beneath it on the insert. A white midsole and black outsole finish it off in clean and classic style. These are available for pre-order now at Crooked Tongues.

Release Reminder: Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 05:13 PM PST

Air Jordan 3

Tomorrow, December 4th, 2010, Jordan Brand will release the highly-anticipated Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”, nationwide. This particular Air Jordan 3, the lead release in the Air Jordan Doernbecher Collection, features a multi-textured, Varsity Red upper. Specifically, a monochromatic, Varsity Red/Black cement print appears on the toe area and heel panel, while a unique, patterned leather print graces the side panels/toe box. Additional black and silver hints appear throughout the base, yet, the icy sole is arguably one of its best traits. What better way to support a great cause than this, right?

The annual Doernbecher Freestyle Collection is a joint effort between Doernbecher Children's Hospital (Portland, Oregon) and Nike. Every year, a group of special Doernbecher patients, who have defeated a serious illness of some sort, are selected to design authentic Nike shoes that are sold to the public in limited numbers. Since 2004, this program has raised $2.4 million for the hospital!

**Note** After many price rumors and release date changes, this shoe will retail for $160 tomorrow, December 4th, 2010.

Nike Zoom KD III White/Team Orange ‘Home’

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 04:43 PM PST

Nike Zoom KD III Home

In the last week of November, Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder teammates debuted the Nike Zoom KD III on the court without Kevin Durant. The 6’10″ power forward could only watch from the sideline thanks to an ankle injury. However, when he returned our Kicks On Court spotted him in this ‘Home’ edition of the Nike Zoom KD III. Durant’s ‘Home’ Nike Zoom KD III is very different from his previous two ‘Home’ signature colorways in that possesses no trace of Oklahoma City Thunder blue; nevertheless, it is a great-looking color scheme on an better silhouette. Orange hints appear in the form of the swoosh border, inner lining and tongue border, while minimal touches of Del Sol are seen on the Flywire design and rim of the Kevin Durant tongue logo. No word on when this shoe will release as of now, but stay tuned as more info should surface.
