The Vans OTW Collection has popped up a number of times in the last few days, introducing us to a handful of new silhouettes. To explain the line and its reason to being Vans put together this video, which features Dimitri Coste, The Blackouts, and Eric Elms.
As it is explained, this line is for everyone, as opposed to targeting them towards skaters, musicians, artists or any other type of person. The Nike Hyperdunk Low “Steve Nash” Away simply possesses a reverse color scheme of the aforementioned Home Hyperdunk Low. Black leather makes up the majority of the upper, along with a purple and orange flywire design to coincide with the Phoenix Suns jerseys. One of the more glaring attributes on this shoe is the black/orange speckled midsole that is paired with a purple outsole. Other features include an orange outlined, purple swoosh, a purple inner lining, black/purple laces and Steve Nash’s logo on the heel panel. View additional photos below.
It’s fitting that today of all days is the day a non-Cavaliers colorway of a LeBron signature sneaker drops. The Nike LeBron VII P.S. “Summit Lake Hornets,” which we’ve previewed a number of times, is finally hitting retailers, including Extra Butter.
The mudguard wrapping around the base of the upper is matte black but shows a metallic shimmer. The semi-translucent teal outsole is complemented by the Flywire threads in the quarter panel and other accents. Purple is also present on the Flywire and Swoosh. Is this one of the better colorways of this LeBron signature?
The “Draft Day Hornets” concept pays tribute to the Charlotte Hornets, the very team that drafted Kobe Bryant out of high school in 1996 (they would then go on to make one of the most lopsided trades of all time, but that is another topic we won’t touch right now). Nike has applied this theme to Kobe Bryant’s last two signature sneakers; now, they attach it to the Nike Air Force 25 Low.
Much the Nike Zoom Kobe IV and Kobe V “Draft Day Hornets”, this shoe possesses a mainly white base constructed of leather and mesh. Minimal teal hints show up in the form of the black outlined swoosh, the tongue branding and the midsole. To finish it off, a purple translucent outsole and white laces compliment this shoe nicely. Available now at Kix-Files. View detailed photos below.
As a part of a new program Nike SB is doing called “Icon x Icon,” which allows iconic skaters to redesign iconic silhouettes, Brian Anderson was allowed to revamp the Blazer. Chopping the ankle height, Anderson created the CS, which we first saw displaying a captain’s hat-inspired colorway.
This version dons a black suede upper and white sole and laces. The real color accents come from the orange tumbled leather Swoosh and matching liner and branding. These are expected to hit shelves next month.
Following its release overseas a couple of weeks ago, the highly-anticipated UNDFTD x New Balance 1500 “Desert Storm” will finally drop exclusively at Undefeated, tomorrow, May 15th, 2010.
This collaborative effort could come at no better time seeing that tomorrow is Armed Forces Day. The shoe itself is based upon military designs from the Gulf War and features design cues that are inspired by specific happenings in the aforementioned battle. Each pair of New Balance "Desert Storm" 1500s will be sold for $120 and will come with a canvas shoe bag featuring utility camo print. Who else thinks this a superb way to recognize our military?
We first took a sneak peek at the heels of this collab Converse Jack Purcell some time ago, and now we’re getting a look at the toes. Check out that first look here.
The collaboration is being billed as a half of each Japanese team, so it only makes sense that the pair was split into two. The left shoe dons a red rubber toe accent, while the right relies on royal blue. Both shoe the same colors on their laces as their respective toes. White uppers and sole combine to make for a very clean canvas off which the colors pop. Source: High Snobiety
