Air Force Friday: World Cup Edition Posted: 11 Jun 2010 04:58 PM PDT Nike does a good job of recognizing the world’s largest sporting events and honoring them with a special Nike Air Force 1. Sneakers such as the “NFL Pro Bowl” Air Force 1 and the “NBA All-Star” Air Force 1 have caught our attention all while paying tribute to a special sporting event. In May of 2006, Nike honored six World Cup teams with their own Country Air Force 1 for the prestigious World Cup. Therefore, with the 2010 World Cup opening game being played between South Africa and Mexico, what better time to highlight the “Mexico” World Cup Nike Air Force 1? Although plain and simple, this Air Force 1 manages to incorporate the three colors of the Mexican flag in a very intriguing way. It features green patent leather on the side panels, toe box and heel tab, while white patent leather is used on the majority of the heel and toe area. To complete the shoe, Nike incorporated a patent leather, red swoosh. Other features include navy laces and a shield that reads ‘Mexico’ on the tongue. Did you manage to grab a pair of these in 2006, or were you cheering for a different team? © Greg Grovey for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 3 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Air Force Friday, Nike, Nike Air Force 1 |
Reebok Insta Pump Fury Posted: 11 Jun 2010 04:28 PM PDT The Reebok Insta Pump Fury has been revamped for 2010, as seen here in this first (and very bright) colorway. No laces are needed for this pair, as the upper is heavily ventilated and Pump bladder-secured. Black appears on the toe and midfoot area, while neon yellow covers the remainder of the upper. Touches of red also appear. The new sole looks to be ultra-flexible, thanks to a slotted design. Air Jordan “For the Love of the Game” Pack Posted: 11 Jun 2010 03:58 PM PDT Yesterday, we showed you two sneakers from the upcoming Air Jordan “For the Love of the Game” Pack in the form of the Air Jordan 2010 Outdoor and the Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor. We now have a couple of photos of the entire Air Jordan “For the Love of the Game” Pack which also features an Air Jordan 9 Retro and a Jordan Pre-Game XT. Those who commented on the Alpha 1 and the Air Jordan 2010 Outdoor, verbalized both positive and negative remarks; however, with additional photos, we wouldn’t be surprised if these sneakers started to grow on you. In addition to the previously-mentioned outdoor sneakers, we also showed you the Air Jordan 9 once before. It obviously contains sort of a reverse colorway to the Air Jordan 9 White/Black-University Blue that just released a couple of weeks ago. Lastly, the newly-designed Jordan Pre-Game XT also plays a part in the “For the Love of the Game” Pack. Its most intriguing aspect appears in the form of the zigzag lacing system. Look for this pack to hit retailers during the fall of 2010. What are your thoughts on the Air Jordan “For the Love of the Game” Pack?
