Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Matte Silver/White

Posted: 31 Aug 2009 12:28 PM PDT

Nike Air Force 1 Futura

Lately, we have not received a lot of news on upcoming Air Force 1 colorways as usual. In place of the scarce Air Force 1 news, we have given you a fairly new column dubbed Air Force Friday. However, we have now spotted a one-of-a-kind Air Force 1 that involves Futura.

It features a predominately matte silver-colored base combined with a transparent outsole. The upper is heavily perforated from the side panels to the heel panel. This sneaker also owns white accents in the form of the swoosh and shoelaces; however, one of the more interesting features is the word, ‘Be’ seen on the outsole and the word ‘Fresh’ appearing on the tongue. The Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium Matte Silver/White will release some time in January 2010. Click here to view detailed photos.

Nike Air Max 98 Volt/Dark Grey

The Air Max 95 has long been a staple in the Air Max line, resurging stronger than ever as of late. Exclusive to UK retailer JD Sports are these Air Max 95’s in a Volt/Dark Grey colorway.

Like with many 95’s, this pair sports a layered grey design, cascading from black at the base to light grey, and then back to a darker grey, before a volt yellow breaks up the scheme. These are made completely of synthetic materials and textiles, so if you’re an animal lover, you can feel comfortable knowing no animals were harmed making these. You’re going to have to ship them from across the pond, but is that enough to keep you from these Air Max’s?

Ransom x adidas Originals PierThe Pier is a part of the Ransom by adidas Originals 2010 Spring/Summer collection. Aside from the vibrant blue hue, these shoes are comprised of a canvas upper tightened by leather laces and a coarse white rubber midsole that is atypically slim. The white contrast stitching and tan tongue tags serve as minimalist details on a subtle silhouette. Due to the materials, the shoes acquire a moccasin-esque aesthetic and feel.

Nike Air Max LeBron VII Custom by Sic

Posted: 31 Aug 2009 10:43 AM PDT

lebron-sic-5Earlier today, we showed you the Shanghai version of the Air Max LeBron VII which stands for LeBron’s ‘Family’ factor. However, with a regular white/green version of the Air Max LeBron VII, a customized style is sure to follow on the ‘More Than a Game’ artist series.

That said, this multi-colored customized Air Max LeBron VII was designed by Shanghai artist Sic. As with previous customized Air Max LeBron VII colorways, this shoe also owns a plethora of qualities that are inspired by James’s life and the respective city.

"Overall, my design is inspired by the beauty of Old Shanghai and New Shanghai. Or in other words, the integration of a modern, traditional China," says Sic.

A picture of a lion on the shoe represents most doorknobs in the city which contain an embossed lion. Another one of the inspirations Sic used is the "Shi Ku Gate" which is a big symbol in Shanghai's neighborhoods and community life. It simply stands for people in the community that live, work and socialize together. In addition, Shanghai landmarks such as Nanjing Road, the Bund and the China Exhibition Hall are also represented on the shoe as well. Click here to view additional photos.

Wood Wood x Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber

Wood Wood x Onitsuka Tiger X-Caliber

Danish brand Wood Wood has partnered with Japan’s Onitsuka Tiger to design and release this pair of X-Caliber’s, a shoe that originally released in 1982.

Like with other Onitsuka Tiger releases we’ve seen, this sneaker uses a clean suede and mesh base, paired with the standard arching lines logo design. Multiple shades of grey come together, and are set off with a bit of bright blue on both the tongue and inner sole. Near the heel, a subtle three leaf clover design in light grey contrasts over the dark grey suede. The clean color choices and subtle design cues may not jump at you like a lot of sneaker collaborations these days, but this simple color scheme works with the classic silhouette to make for a solid everyday look.
