adidas JS Forum Hi “B-Sides” Detailed Look Posted: 22 Aug 2011 01:33 PM PDT After the smash-hit "Money" Forums in 2002, many could've dubbed Jeremy Scott a one-hit-wonder in the sneaker world. Boy, would they've been wrong. While most are familiar with Scott's recent run in the shoe-biz, the adidas JS Forum Hi “B-Sides” flips the release that started it all. Tonal color blocking gets bombed with name drops over a gum toned sole on this throwback tune. Old money or new money, get your bread up by September 17th. adidas JS Forum Hi Source: Sneaker Freaker © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us |
This Day In Sneaker History: The Redeem Team Recaptures Gold Medal for USA Posted: 22 Aug 2011 01:19 PM PDT Can you believe it has already been three years since the Redeem Team dominated competition in the Beijing Olympic Games? The Redeem Team, made up of stars including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, is considered the second best Olympic basketball team ever assembled (Dream Team is obviously first). On this day three years ago, the Redeem Team defeated Spain 118-107 to accomplish their expectation of winning the tournament. Not only did the Redeem Team leave onlookers in awe with their superb plays, but they also performed in style. Kobe Bryant sported the then-newly designed Nike Zoom Hyperdunk, a shoe that is undoubtedly responsible for kicking off the Nike “Hyper” series. LeBron James’s feet shared time in between the “United We Rise” Nike Zoom LeBron VI and the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier II. Dwyane Wade, a former Converse brand member and the leading scorer on the Redeem Team, laced up a new Converse Team Signature shoe. Other players, such as Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, also spent time in their signature kicks as well. Another interesting footwear angle involving the Redeem Team was the logo controversy. If you recall, Dwight Howard was the only player on the team not signed to a Nike affiliated brand. Therefore, many questioned why Dwight Howard's hand covered the Nike logo on the jersey and why Coach K's foot stood in front of Howard’s shoes. Let us know your thoughts on today’s “This Day In Sneaker History” installment. Posted: 22 Aug 2011 11:29 AM PDT Lately, we have witnessed a number of three-sneaker groupings from skate brand Supra. However, today Supra’s highlighted pack comes in the form of two stylish Thunder colorways. This grouping, labeled the “Thriller” Pack, is inspired by the beloved 80's Michael Jackson look. Both Thunder colorways are comprised of kidskin leather, while the inside of each shoe is lined with visa terry. Additional accents include a vintage 80s zipper on the outside of each shoe, the custom "Thriller" print on the sock liner and a custom "Thriller" hang tag. Only 413 pairs of each color (sequentially numbered on the inside of the tongue) were created. The Supra “Thriller” Pack will be available on August 27, 2011, at suprafootwear.com and a number of retailers listed below. * U.S. Factory 413, Los Angeles © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
