Distinct Life x New Balance 30 for 30: Day 1 Posted: 01 Jun 2011 01:27 PM PDT Over the years, we have witnessed a ton of intriguing New Balance releases to say the least. Drops such as the 999 “The Kennedy”, the Highs and Lows x New Balance 577 "Night and Day" Pack and the Burn Rubber x New Balance MT580 have caught the attention of many throughout the first quarter of 2011. Our homie Rick Williams, the owner of Burn Rubber and Distinct Life, is no stranger to the New Balance game, and he is not afraid to reveal his affinity to the storied brand. Today, Rick Williams’ Distinct Life site kicks off its month-long New Balance 30 for 30 series in which he will be rocking a different pair of New Balance sneakers for every day in the month of June. During the next 30 days, Williams will sport a mixture of soon-to-be-released New Balance sneakers that will release in the coming months, along with some classic New Balances that happen to be favorites of his. The New Balance 501, dressed in red, white, and navy, is Williams’ choice today. This extremely lightweight sneaker features an extremely breathable silhouette and possesses a base comprised of nylon and suede. It is expected to hit retailers in July, therefore, this shoe should excite many considering its Independence Day-esque color scheme. Lastly, Rick Williams and Distinct Life will be giving away two codes at the end of the month for people to design their own 574 using the new “Custom US 574″ program. What are your thoughts on the Distinct Life x New Balance 30 for 30 series? Kobe Bryant x Nike SB Eric Koston One New Images Posted: 01 Jun 2011 12:21 PM PDT The Kobe Bryant x Nike SB Eric Koston One collaboration has a been a controversial release to say the least. Today, more images have surfaced, shedding even more light on this hybrid skate/basketball sneaker. An embossed nubuck material is substituted in place of the hard synthetic snakeskin upper found on the first release of the Kobe Bryant x Nike SB Eric Koston One. In addition, this pair features an "Eric Koston" patch on the tongue rather than the Kobe logo seen on the aforementioned pair. Check out more images below. Air Jordan 1 “Banned” Detailed Photos Posted: 01 Jun 2011 10:58 AM PDT Today, the highly anticipated Air Jordan 1 “Banned” surfaced at select Nike outlets across the country. Although some of you may look at this as a regular black and red Air Jordan 1, this ode to the beginning of MJ’s sneaker line has garnered a great amount of interest and brought back the much needed chase in the sneaker community. Here we have extremely detailed images of the Air Jordan 1 “Banned”. The predominately black and varsity red leather upper is highlighted by various symbols that pay tribute to attempted banning of MJ’s first signature model. In detail, the banned “X” rests on the heel, and the famous quote from the Jordan commercial appears on the insole. Other examples of this include the date in which David Stern officially banned MJ’s sneakers and the phrase, “Imagine if…?” on the box.
