This Week in Sneaks

Fresh off of the heels of the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam” release, check out these photos of the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Silver Anniversary”.

What special, 2009 Jordan release did Golden State Warrior’s guard Anthony Morrow bring out earlier this week? It may be your favorite release of 2009 (and we promise it’s not the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam”). Check out Kicks On Court to see.

Is elephant print overused these days? Many of you agreed at first; however, after seeing the elephant print suspenders (or what they were covering) you opinion changed.

Sure, the Air Jordan Alpha 1 released today to many sneaker lover’s liking. Yet, are you looking for even more of a retro feel? View detailed photos of the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro AJKO.

Following the release of the Jordan Spizike “Do You Know” last Saturday, we now have detailed photos Jordan Spizike “Fresh Since ‘85″ that will release next month. Which pair interests you the most?

Check out the "Copper" Nike Air Foamposite Release Date information.

Nike Basketball PE New Arrivals

Nike Basketball PE New Arrivals

Three new Nike Basketball PEs have hit House of Hoops locations nationwide. And three high-level NBA hoopers are represented with them, though each has been paired with a different model than the others.

The Huarache 2010, which we first saw awhile back, was done in a Magic colorway for Rashard Lewis. One detail we’re noticing now is that the blue upper is done in reflective 3M. Another shoe that’s now available and uses a 3M upper, which is the only signature shoe of the group, is the KD2 “Creamsicle.” The all orange shoe may not have had a very welcome debut, but the drop has been highly-anticipated since we first saw them. Finally, the David West Air Max Rise PE is also available. For details on this one, check yesterday’s detailed post.

Posted: 16 Jan 2010 10:28 AM PST

Kicks On Court

Obviously, we have seen the Air Jordan 12 Retro “Rising Sun”, “Flu Game” and White/Red on occasion throughout this 2009-2010 NBA season; however, we spotted a few players rocking a never-before-seen Air Jordan 12 Retro that will undoubtedly make your mouths water. With that said, check out today’s Kicks On Court to see these new Air Jordan 12s.

Last night, Atlanta Hawks star Joe Johnson and Charlotte Bobcats teammates Gerald Wallace and DJ Augustin were seen in a white and navy blue colored Air Jordan 12 Retro. It also features a hint of red in between the white and navy blue sections and in the form of the Jumpman logo on the tongue. There is no word yet on when this shoe will release; however, click here to view these sneakers plus more worn by Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant and others.

Nike SB Zoom Classic Newsprint/Blue Sapphire

The run of clean and simple Nike SB releases isn’t done just yet it seems, as this Zoom Classic just became available at select accounts, including Kasina.

Newsprint grey is used for all of the upper elements. For the toe, midfoot and heel, solid suede is the choice materials. The remaining parts use a perforated version. The padded tongue uses the same grey in a mesh-like material. Sapphire Blue works as the main accent color on the liner and tongue tag, as well as the extra laces. To match the white midsole a croc-print Swoosh is put to work.

Shoe Gallery x adidas ZX700 Boat Preview

Shoe Gallery is giving us a special sneak preview of their upcoming collaboration with adidas on the ZX700 Boat silhouette. And since the boutique is located in sunny Miami, it makes perfect sense that the boat shoe-inspired sneaker was chosen.

We can see that a white midsole is used, and tell the upper is two-toned. Beyond that, speculation is all we have left. These will hit shelves in early February, just in time for the Miami-hosted Super Bowl, but we’ll definitely have more information before then. Stay tuned to check out what’s sure to be a nice collaboration.

Release Reminder: Air Jordan Alpha 1

Posted: 15 Jan 2010 03:43 PM PST

Air Jordan Alpha 1This Saturday, January 16th, 2010, Jordan Brand will unleash one of their more highly-anticipated sneakers in the form of the Air Jordan Alpha 1 for $125.

We showcased this particular sneaker in our 10 Sneakers We’re Looking Forward to in 2010, and many of you agreed. First and foremost, the Air Jordan Alpha 1 is what started it all; however, it has been updated with performance-ready features such as a full length Zoom Air bag and perforated leather. It also contains minimal stitching and a mesh inner lining. If you recall, Dwyane Wade, Ray Allen and Jared Jeffries wore this sneaker a few times in Kicks On Court. Who else cannot wait until tomorrow?

Air Force Friday: Nike Air Force 1 Low University Blue/White

Posted: 15 Jan 2010 03:13 PM PST

Nike really proved the old saying ‘less is more’ with this particular Air Force One. A perfect balance of University Blue and White came together to make this simple beauty.

Nike decided to use only two colors and two different materials on the upper. The university blue leather toe cap and midfoot contrasts perfectly with a few hints of patent leather. It is also finished with a white swoosh and a clean, white sole. What happened to the good old days when Air Force Ones used patent leather? Don’t worry, All-Star Weekend is right around the corner.

Did you purchase or pass on these in 2003? Click here to share with us your opinion on this shoe.

If you want your Air Force Friday story on the site, you have to do three simple things. First, become a Nice Kicks friend on Facebook. Secondly, become a member of the Nice Kicks group on Facebook. Last but not least, send your story along with a picture of you with the shoes to info@nicekicks.com. Title the subject Air Force Friday.
