| Kicks On Court: Summer League Sneaker Standouts Posted: 20 Jul 2009 12:56 PM PDT | 
After the Kicks On Court Awards, we planned to hibernate our Kicks On Court column until the beginning of the 2009-2010 NBA season. However, after viewing some of the summer league games and seeing some very nice sneakers, we had to share with you what is happening on the summer hardwood. Surprisingly, we spotted a wider array of nice basketball sneakers than we see during some nights in the actual regular season. Some of the recent releases were spotted over the weekend such as the Air Jordan 5 “Toro Bravo”, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Draft Day” and the Air Jordan 12 “Nubuck”. | LIVESTRONG x Futura x Nike Shoe Gallery Release Posted: 20 Jul 2009 12:31 PM PDT  The LIVESTRONG x Futura x Nike Dunk FLOM released over the weekend at a handful of locations. Only one spot, Shoe Gallery in Miami, had the man himself in attendance to sign autographs. Graffiti legend Futura made a guest appearance to see the release of his creation, as well as sign autographs and take pictures with some of his fans. As can be expected, Shoe Gallery spared no expense (literally this time) in setting up the store with cycling paraphernalia. Highlighted by a cycling seat wrapped in foreign currencies a la the FLOM Dunks. | Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Sample Posted: 20 Jul 2009 10:08 AM PDT  Patta has consistently come with solid collaborations. One of which that apparently never made it into production was this Patta x Nike Air Max 1. The sample you see here recently surfaced on eBay, and is rumored to be one of only three in existence. This Air Max 1 is made up of a canvas and mesh, and features graphics based on Pink Floyd's The Wall cover art, placed onto the insole. | LeBron to Follow Dwyane Wade to Jordan Brand? Posted: 20 Jul 2009 09:24 AM PDT  Hold your horses! Please notice the question mark at the end of the title before you text your friend or create a Twitter update saying, LeBron James has signed with Jordan Brand. We all know LeBron has 90,000,000 reasons to be more than comfortable as a part of the Nike brand; however, we did spot King James in a pair of Jordan sneakers over the weekend. LeBron James was spotted at the University of Kentucky campus shooting around in the white/green colorway of the Air Jordan 9 model. If you recall, James wore this same sneaker in high school; the colorway obviously incorporates St. Vincent St. Mary’s color scheme. It also contains minimal gold accents in the form of the Jordan logos seen on the sole and the tongue. If LeBron James so happened to join Jordan Brand, wouldn’t that be unreal? Think about it: Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James representing JB together. As part of Kanye West’s recent Louis Vuitton Collection, The Jasper gets its namesake from Ibn Jasper, aka FM Phenomenal, aka Ferrari Murakami. We all know the feeling of opening up a pair of fresh, new, exclusive kicks, and though the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Jaspers were limited in numbers, the feeling of opening up a pair of your shoes has got to be incredible. | LIVESTRONG x Nike Zoom Kobe IV Posted: 20 Jul 2009 08:36 AM PDT  We recently saw the LIVESTRONG version of the LeBron Soldier III, so it is only fitting that we now see the Zoom Kobe IV receive the LIVESTRONG makeover. The LIVESTRONG x Nike Zoom Kobe IV features the same all yellow makeup as the Soldier III, however maybe due to the familiarity of the yellow on the Kobe IV, the color seems to fit more appropriately. A majority of the upper is done up in patent materials, which only adds to the boldness of these shoes. No information on whether these will ever hit retailers, but we’ll be on the lookout.
