To celebrate the upcoming holiday of Cinco De Mayo, Nike SB designed this Zoom P-Rod III in the colors of the Mexican flag. As a Mexican-American skater, Rodriguez is the perfect athlete to use to celebrate the occasion. Green suede covers the entire upper, with the exception of the white leather Swoosh. Other hits of red and white embroidery are also in place. At the heel, Paul’s PR repeating print has been stamped into the shoe’s material. The midsole gets a splash of color in the form of the red on the outsole. You don’t need to wait until May for these though, as you can grab your pair now at West NYC. | Vans Vault Chukka LX “Florida Marlins” Posted: 02 Apr 2010 11:58 AM PDT 
Are you still waiting for a Vans Vault model that features your hometown team? If so, you can only hope the Opening Day Collection recognizes your squad. Meanwhile, South Beach residents now have some Vans to pick up as we now have photos of the Vans Vault Chukka LX “Florida Marlins”. This particular Chukka LX is constructed with a primarily black suede upper fused with a white, vulcanized rubber sole. Minimal teal accents appear in the form of the shoelaces, inner lining and on the enlarged Florida Marlins logo located on the heel. This Chukka LX, which will be sold with a complimentary limited edition Majestic Authentic Jersey, will be available exclusively at Shoe Gallery in Miami on April 9th. | Nike Air Pippen I Retro “Sunrise/Sunset” Posted: 02 Apr 2010 10:28 AM PDT  Nike is currently paying tribute to Scottie Pippen’s signature sneaker line by releasing new sneaker models inspired by some of Pippen’s sneakers (see Nike Zoom Flip’n, Nike Max A Lot) and re-releasing the Nike Air Pippen I in multiple colorways. Here we have photos of one of the soon-to-be-released Pippen I colorways dubbed the “Sunrise/Sunset”. This particular Nike Air Pippen I retro is clearly dubbed the “Sunrise/Sunset” because of its yellow/orange, gradient-like application seen on the curvy line design that graces the side panels. This Pippen I also features two-tone shoelaces, an orange/yellow Pippen logo on the tongue, a white midsole and an orange/yellow full-length visible Air sole unit. As much as we see Scottie sitting courtside at the Miami Heat games, we’re sure he would love to step foor on the court in these. Available at House of Hoops today. | hanon x Asics GT-II “Northern Lites” Posted: 02 Apr 2010 09:43 AM PDT 
We gave you a sneak peek at the hanon 20 year anniversary Asics GT-II a few days ago, but that look did little to whet your appetite. Today we’re following that with a complete look and detailed write up on these Asics. Given their nickname, it’s only fitting that a dark base color is used to represent the night’s sky. Suede and shimmer sheen are used for said upper. The colors seen in the Northern Lights are used intermittently on the leather arches on the quarter panels of each. | Kicks On Court: Denver Nuggets Kick Off “Green Week” Posted: 02 Apr 2010 08:58 AM PDT 
Every year, the NBA partners with the National Resource Defense Council (NDRC) to raise awareness for protecting the environment. The partnership produces “Green Week” in which the NBA players wear mainly green apparel from headbands, to socks to sneakers. Check out our Kicks On Court to see what some of the Denver Nuggets sported in last night’s game. In a win against the Portland Trailblazers, multiple Nuggets players were seen in green apparel to represent “Green Week”. Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony laced up a white/green colorway of the Jordan Melo M6 combined with a green headband and green rubberbands around his wrists. Nuggets shooting guard JR Smith sported some “Green Week” NBA socks; yet, his gold-colored Nike Zoom Kobe Vs were the most eye-appealing objects on his feet to say the least. | Nike SB Dunk Mid Black/Black-Varsity Maize Posted: 02 Apr 2010 08:13 AM PDT 
Shawn Baravetto, product line manager for Nike SB, got another go at a Nike Dunk for this month and when all was said and done, he had created this bumblebee-esque Mid. Varsity Maize nubuck appears on the toe, heel foxing and midfoot. To contrast that bright hue, black fills out the remainder of the upper. The Swoosh is also black, as is the strap that reaches across the ankle. Though not credited in the color code, white can be found on the midsole and laces. | Vans Vault Sk8-Hi LX “Baltimore Orioles” Posted: 02 Apr 2010 07:28 AM PDT 
The “Opening Day” Collection has brought us some very interesting Vans sneakers, including the Old Skool LX done for the Anaheim Angels. Next up in the series is this Sk8-Hi, which was designed for the Baltimore Orioles. While the entire is solid black, it’s the details of this shoe that make it what it is. Leather is used for the midfoot, forefoot and heel, while canvas fills in the remainder. Near the ankle, orange embroidery and an orange eyelet further this shoe’s ties with the O’s.
