Nike Sportswear Blazer Hi “Ohio State” Posted: 12 Aug 2009 11:18 AM PDT Within the past year, we have seen a number of Ohio State Buckeyes inspired sneakers such as the Nike Zoom Soldier II PEs and the Black/Red-White colorway of the Air Force 1 involved in the Nike Air Force 1 "LeBron" Pack. Now, Nike has designed a Blazer Hi model that also features Ohio State inspirations. Coinciding with Ohio State’s color scheme, this particular Blazer Hi possesses a predominately grey base mixed with a vibrant, red sole. However, one of the more interesting features on this shoe is the plethora of stickers seen throughout the upper. If you recall, this attribute is most notably associated with the tradition of slapping a Buckeye sticker on the helmets of top players in the game. Yet, these stickers are skull and crossbones made of barbells with a miniscule football helmet. This Blazer may be fresh enough for even some of you Ann Arbor residents out there! Available at select retailers. Converse Chuck Taylor “Dalek Print” Posted: 12 Aug 2009 10:07 AM PDT At the end of July, we spotlighted the new Nike Sportswear at 225 Forest store in which many of you thought was a very cool idea. Dalek, who aided towards the actual design of the store also provided a multi-colored print design for a limited amount of Converse Chuck Taylor models. Supposedly, this same print, which was made using some extreme transferring technology, was also applied on various t-shirts and Hurley trunks. As for the shoe itself, this particular Chuck Taylor contains a primarily white base with the aforementioned print design most notably seen on the side panels. The Chuck Taylor is a canvas on which limitless designs can be applied to it. How does this one stack up against previous designs you have seen? Nike Big Nike “Lil Dez” Quickstrike Posted: 12 Aug 2009 09:03 AM PDT This past NBA season was one to remember. Although there were great, memorable games from the first round to the championship, the Nike commercials provided a great sidebar of laughter for all of us; the LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Lil Dez puppets made us not want to leave our seats during timeouts and intermission. Nike has now used the latter puppet as a application design on the Big Nike model. At a first glance, this sneaker seems to be simply designed seeing that it possesses a predominately sport red synthetic leather base; however, it contains many elements that make us wonder if Lil Dez actually got a hold of these. For example, the words, Congrats Kobe are written in white script on the collar areas of both shoes. In addition, one of the insoles reads, “Kobe do you have any new shoes, can I see your shoes?“ Click here to see the other Lil Dez inspired features that grace the upper plus the matching shirt that comes with it. Available soon at select Nike retailers. | Read the rest of Nike Big Nike “Lil Dez” Quickstrike © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2009. | Permalink | 32 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Nike, Nike Big Nike |
Nike Air Max LeBron VII Custom by Jeff Zimmerman Posted: 12 Aug 2009 08:17 AM PDT A couple of days ago, we showed you the Nike Air Max LeBron VII "Chicago" More Than A Game Artist Series which continued to fuel your liking towards James’s seventh signature sneaker. Along with the release of the previously mentioned shoe in Chicago, Illinois, ‘The Chosen One’ also received this gift from Chicago artist Jeff Zimmerman. First off, Zimmerman has achieved national and international recognition for his uniquely-designed murals and portraits. As for this multi-colored Air Max LeBron VII, Zimmerman was supposedly inspired by James on and off court feats. However, he also used the city of Chicago for much of the design as well. For example, the Chicago city flag has been woven into the shoe, while a Chicago-style hot dog symbolizes players being obnoxious ‘hot dogs’ on the court. In addition, the vintage-like Nike swoosh represents a statement that reads, "experience, plus practice and hard work, make us who we are."
