New Balance 576 “Pub Pack”

Posted: 18 Jan 2010 12:58 PM PST

New Balance 576 "Pub Pack"

The New Balance Flimby plant has been churning out some very nice shoes as of late, including the pack of 1300s that just released. This run of 576s draws inspiration from the places where the workers of that plant probably like to spend a good bit of their time off.

Dubbed the “Pub Pack,” the simple leather uppers contrast the lining of the shoes, which were chosen to emulate bar stool covers. The navy pair utilizes a stripes white and blue liner, while bits of grey work as contrasts on the upper. The “Red Lion” pair not only utilizes original pub couch leather, but also uses a complex print on the inside. Thirdly, a tan pair gets hits of pea green on the liner and parts of the upper. All three take on popular pubs names from across England and come packaged with a towel and beer mat.

Nike Zoom Soldier IV TB

Posted: 18 Jan 2010 11:58 AM PST

LeBron’s next secondary shoe, the Nike Zoom Soldier IV, started hitting the web not too long, with appearances in white and navy and white and green colorways. These next two colorways keep the white base, but add two more colors to the Team Bank repertoire.

The mid-panels both use a shiny perforated leather, in either royal blue or purple. Both utilize a matching midfoot strap constructed with Flywire for added lockdown and support. Of course these continue to utilize Zoom technology in the forefoot, but also put a Max Air sole to work. This is the first Soldier model we’ve seen use an Air bag, as the Zoom Soldier III relied on Zoom and two straps for its performance elements, as opposed to the single one we see here. We haven’t yet taken a peak at non-TB colorways, but it’s safe to assume like it’s predecessors, this new shoe won’t be reserved for simple color-ups.

Nike Air Force 1 Navy Blue/White-Red

Posted: 18 Jan 2010 11:28 AM PST

Nike Air Force 1

Nike has been catering to the women through a slew of Valentine’s Day inspired sneakers such as the Aerofit and the Air Force 1. Now, Nike has released another Air Force 1 for the women that has nothing to do with February 14th (just in case you’re tired of red already).

It contains a primarily deep navy blue colored base comprised of leather and patent leather (toe area). It also owns a few white accents in the form of the shoelaces, swoosh, inner lining and midsole. A few have said this shoe features an “Un-Pigeon”-like color scheme thanks to its vibrant red outsole and tongue. This WMNS Air Force 1 is now available at MajorDC. Click here to view more photos.

Vans AV Era 1.5

Vans AV Era 1.5

The Vans Era is a classic shoe that’s long been a staple in the skate and sneaker communities. But for Anthony Van Elengen’s first signature as a Vans skater, the classic needed an update. Thicker padding and an EVA midsole with Board Feel XD technology transform the original into the AV Era 1.5.

The two-tone approach we’re seen an endless number of times is used again, with three colorways currently available on Vans.com. The fourth color-up uses an all brown upper with a gum sole. The others use a white sole, mixing blue and black, pewter and black and a two-tone brown approach.

Jordan Team Oak Hill Academy PEs

Jordan Team Oak Hill Academy PEs

Oak Hill Academy is kind of a big deal. With a seemingly endless number of alumni in the NBA, including Jordan signature athlete Carmelo Anthony, it’s no wonder they’re a top-ranked national powerhouse year-in and year-out. It should also come as no surprise that Jordan Brand has outfitted them with numerous PEs for this season, including the 4 we see here.

The only “Home” colorway we see comes on the 16.5, which uses a white leather upper with contrast coming from the red patent leather and mesh, as well as yellow stitching. The Jordan Hallowed Ground, Melo M6 and Icons silhouettes are all done with a black base. All three use the Warriors’ school color thoroughly, including yellow or red contrast stitching and red on the outsoles. Nubuck is used on the uppers, with numerous Oak Hill embroidery appearing throughout, like “The Hill” we see on the inner heel of the Melos.
