Notice the shape and styling of the Drake’s midfoot. Sporting a low-cut silhouette and sitting on a sneaker sole, the Drake is constructed with full-grain leather and set to release in two colorways. A black upper sits on a white sole and a brown upper rests over a tan sole. Contrasting laces on each pair add a certain level of “sneakerness” to an otherwise refined model. However, one of these dirty south rappers will have to rise above the other in today’s Footwear Faceoff. Earlier this week, Ludacris was spotted rocking the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12, a sneaker that last released at the end of 2008 (Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack). On the other hand, Flo Rida was spotted at Alonzo Mourning’s annual Summer Groove rocking the “Toro Bravo” Air Jordan 5 Black. Which one of these rappers wore the better Air Jordan retro sneaker? | Vans California Era “Canvas & Leather” White/Sheepskin Posted: 22 Jul 2010 10:43 AM PDT The first installment of the Vans California “Canvas & Leather” Pack featured two sets of Zapato Del Barcos and Eras. We should have known it wasn’t complete when we saw the release of a fifth shoe in the White/Sheepskin Zapato Del Barco. It turns out that an Era was designed to match that colorway. White canvas is used for upper, while Sheepskin leather is used on the tongue and heel. Red plaid lines the inside of this pair, which should be at your retailer now or in the very near future. | Posted: 22 Jul 2010 10:28 AM PDT New Balance has released a number of exquisite sneakers this year including the “Desert Storm” 1500, the “Covent Garden” Pack and the “Sonic Weld” Pack. However, New Balance will go in a totally different direction by unleashing its Pro Collection this fall/winter season. The New Balance Pro Collection consists of two New Balance Pro high-tops and two low-cut Pro sneakers. The high-tops, shown above, feature 100% canvas-textured constructions with old-fashioned, vintage hints such as the sole and the New Balance logo on the side panels. The low-cut New Balance Pros feature the same design scheme and come in colors such as black and white. Lastly, the white pairs (both Hi and Low) contain some form of blue New Balance branding on the heel tab. Look for this collection to surface soon. All three shoes are decked in stripes along their respective quarter panels. Solid canvas can be found on the toe, midfoot and heel. Navy blue, green and red are the available colors through Japanese retailer ABC-Mart.
