This Week In Sneaks

We have witnessed an abundance of can’t-miss sneaker releases so far this year; however, what can we look forward to for the rest of 2010 on the sneaker front? View the 14 Sneakers to Look Forward to for the Rest of 2010.

Earlier this week, GOOD Music label mates Kanye West and Kid Cudi were both spotted wearing nice colorways of the Jordan Spizike. Specifically, Kanye wore the “Grape” Spizike and Cudi laced up the “Do You Know” Spizike. Who wore the better sneaker? Participate in our Footwear Faceoff voting poll to state your opinion.

It’s always good to imagine, right? The Nike Air Force 1 “Foamposite” is set to release soon; however, check out our Foamposite Air Force 1 – What if? You may like these more than the original colorway!

A couple of weeks ago, we received word that future first round pick John Wall signed to Reebok. We spotted Wall wearing the newly-designed Reebok Zig Slash in a Washington Wizards workout.

Yesterday, the highly-anticipated Toy Story 3 movie made its debut in the theaters. Check out our Footwear Faceoff: Buzz Lightyear Shoes between Nike and adidas.

Much talk has swirled around the web ever since the news broke about the Air Jordan 6 Infrared Pack.  From initial photos it appeared that the shoes were hardly different from the Black/Varsity Red retros that released in January, but we wanted to investigate whether or not this was the case.  Beyond just the shade of red or infrared, we put together a detailed comparison between not only the 2010 and 2000 retros, but also the originals from 1991.

Without further ado, we proudly present the official 1991 vs. 2000 vs. 2010 Air Jordan 6 Black/Infrared Comparison.

Release Reminder: Nike Air Foamposite One “Cough Drop”

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 05:28 PM PDT

Nike Air Foamposite One "Cough Drop"

The Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack is not the only major sneaker release tomorrow. Nike will unleashed its third Air Foamposite One of the year in the form of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Cough Drop” for $200.

Although similar sneakers such as the Nike Air Force 1 “Foamposite”, Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Pearl” and the Nike Air Foamposite Royal Blue (still a rumor) have snatched some attention away from this sneaker, it is still expected to be coveted at an alarming rate tomorrow.

This black/varsity red Nike Air Foamposite One will be available at select retailers nationwide including 21 Mercer Street. In addition, there has been rumors of this sneaker being available at Nike’s online store tomorrow. Stay tuned for an update.

Nike SB Blazer CS Black/White

Nike SB Blazer CS Black/White

Brian Anderson put his influence on the Nike Blazer in form of a mid-ankle chop and other additional adjustments to create the CS model. This pair has surfaced at overseas retailers and is hitting (British) shelves on the first of July.

Like so many SB Blazers we’ve seen before, basic black and white color block was implemented. Suede is the material of choice and a gum sole accents the simple upper very well.

Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor Laser Blue

Posted: 18 Jun 2010 04:28 PM PDT

Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor

The Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor model is set to appear very soon just in time for your summer basketball tournaments. Following the “For the Love of the Game” Air Jordan Alpha 1 we showed you last week, we now have detailed photos of another colorway set to drop soon.

This particular Air Jordan Alpha 1 features more of a contrasting color scheme than the “For the Love of the Game” pair; however, you are sure to turn some heads on the outdoor courts with either colorway. Two shade of grey make up the majority of the base: light grey perforated leather is seen on the side panels and toe area, while a darker grey surrounds the toe box and trickles up onto the midfoot. Laser blue contrast stitching is also seen on the toe and on the black midsole. To finish it off, this sneaker contains a laser blue translucent sole, a black inner lining and a laser blue heel. View additional photos below.
