Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze III “Blackout” New Images Posted: 07 Jul 2011 12:58 PM PDT Is the “Blackout” version of the Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze III the best yet? We first showed you this colorway last week, and many of you expressed great interest in this shoe. We now have a few more photos for you to look at. Black leather dominates the majority of the upper, while black nubuck is seen on the toe area and patent leather of the same color on the toe cap. The Swizz Beatz x Reebok Kamikaze III “Blackout”, which also features a healthy dosage of black Hexalite cushioning throughout the upper, is scheduled to hit retailers shortly. Star Wars x adidas Fall/Winter Collection Posted: 07 Jul 2011 12:28 PM PDT Darth was his father and adidas is his footwear. Luke Skywalker's SW emulates his Hoth snow gear for the upcoming portion of the Star Wars x adidas Originals collection, which also includes an ode to the Wampa that almost had his number. Rounding out the fall/winter lineup are a simple Darth Vader mid and a unique "Han Solo" Forum Mid, complete with a removable zipper midfoot and M65 color story. All four, and more many, pairs should begin landing in stores soon. Posted: 07 Jul 2011 12:13 PM PDT Thursday already? God bless America and the holiday weekend. While we're sure many celebs were BBQing or on the beach (and we know how some feel about wearing sneakers on the beach), we did manage to catch some good heat. Turns out many of our favorites are still rocking Js, and yes, still planking. "Banned" 1s, "Grape" 5s, and the entire "Toro Bravo" pack all pop up in this week's CSS. Which headliner did it best? Vote in the poll and tell us in the comment section. Sneaker Showdown: Nike LeBron 8 “Miami Night” vs “South Beach” Posted: 07 Jul 2011 11:28 AM PDT Last year, LeBron made the decision to head to Miami, the city where the heat is on all night on the beach 'til the break of dawn, and footwear fiends have been the biggest winners since. Yesterday, the latest South Florida-inspired Nike signature shoe debuted with the LeBron 8 V2 Low "Miami Night." This shoe of course follows the LeBron 8 "South Beach," which arrived last year to crazy lineups, ludicrous resale prices and top billing on many best-of lists. Now the question must be asked: which Miami-inspired LeBron signature is better? Let us know your thoughts on this Sneaker Showdown in the poll at the bottom over the page. Posted: 07 Jul 2011 10:56 AM PDT We debuted a “preview” photo of the Nike LeBron 9 exactly a week ago, and both positive and negative remarks filled the comment section. However, that was before a full image of the shoe surfaced on the web. We now have our first extremely detailed image gallery of LeBron James’ ninth signature model, the Nike LeBron 9. This signature model simply picks up right where Jason Petrie and the Nike Basketball team left off in terms of materials and structure on the Nike LeBron 8 PS. As expected, the newly-designed Fuse technology dominates the majority of the Nike LeBron 9′s upper, specifically showing up on the toe area and throughout the side panels, collar and heel. The latter three areas also seem to incorporate a woven-like structure, an attribute never seen on LeBron’s sneakers. As for the Air Max unit, the LeBron 9 possesses the same 180-degree heel unit seen on the Nike LeBron 8 PS and features Zoom Air in the forefoot. No word yet on when the Nike LeBron 9 will release; meanwhile, let us know your preliminary thoughts on the Nike LeBron 9 in the comment section. Is this shoe better than any of the three models in the Nike LeBron 8 series? The 50 Greatest Sneaker Moments in Movies Posted: 07 Jul 2011 10:40 AM PDT Footwear may not be associated with film quite like popcorn, but the two have a deep relationship. Gary Warnett of Crooked Tongues teamed up with Complex for a blockbuster feature, The 50 Greatest Sneaker Moments in Movies. Bruce Lee, Michael J. Fox, and MJ all star, but the supporting cast is just as strong. Check it out here. © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 3 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Jordan “Derek Jeter 3K” Collection Posted: 07 Jul 2011 10:31 AM PDT Derek Jeter is a living legend in every way. As the face of the New York Yankees and Jordan Brand baseball, Jeter has amassed 2,997 career hits. With only a handful to go before the big 3,000 hit milestone is reached, and the Yankees headed into a four-game stretch at home, Jordan Brand has unveiled its "DJ3K" collection of kicks and gear. In honor of Jeter's achievements, the Jordan Jeter Cut cleat and training sneaker have been designed in special colorways, complete with gold accents on the outsoles, specifically for #2. The black cleats fall in line with Yankee tradition of course, while the burgundy upper of the trainers were chosen to represent Kalamazoo Central High School, where he honed his game as a youth. Both shoes feature special insoles, displaying a hand-written contract between a young Derek Jeter and his father that promised the rising star would work hard to become the best baseball player he could. The same contract has been screened on the special edition shoe boxes. Rounding out the collection are special black and gold batting gloves and to limited t-shirts, which will both be available at select retailers soon. To see Jeter rock this gear, and of course make history, tune in to the YES network at 7 PM EST tonight.
