Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Design Photos

Kanye West x Louis Vuitton Design Photos

We’ve seen the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton sneakers that are set to hit Louis Vuitton retailers soon, but today we have a look at some of the behind the scenes that went into this collab.

Looking through the photos, Kanye definitely had to be selective in the process. I have to say that personally I would have liked to see the running inspired silhouette make it into production, but then again I guess it is still possible (though it would still be way out of my price range). It definitely reveals the effort and creativity that often gets overlooked due to the enormous (yet justifiable?) ego.

Click here to see more photos of the design process.

Jordan 6 Rings “Hall of Fame”

Posted: 26 May 2009 11:42 AM PDT

Jordan 6 Rings Hall of Fame

It was stated in early April that Michael Jordan would be inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame this September. In lieu of this great feat, Jordan Brand will supposedly release four sneakers inspired by Jordan’s Hall of Fame accomplishment. One of the four will be this exclusive colorway of the Jordan 6 Rings model.

This particular shoe contains a mostly black base made up of patent leather and canvas. The entire upper also contains a white contrast stitching throughout the canvas section. Minimal red details appear on the Jumpman logo and the border of the tongue as well. Other features include the plethora of numbers on the midsole (in representation of various defining moments in Jordan’s career), black shoelaces and a grey outsole. Look for the Jordan 6 Rings “Hall of Fame” to drop some time in September. Also, stay tuned to find out the other shoes incorporated in the ‘Hall of Fame’ Pack. New Balance M579J Limited

Posted: 26 May 2009 11:11 AM PDT

New Balance M579J Limited

The M579 is a popular silhouette in Japan. Though it is slightly toned down in “tech” from its MT580 sibling, its following is still strong. Colorways like these only add to its fame.

The latest, the New Balance M579J Limited is now available in two new colorways at flauge. Though the flashy, bright and colorful running silhouette is always popular, even more so in Japan, where these two colorways will probably leave the shelves in a hurry. A mix of premium leather, suede and mesh make these a possibility no matter what part of the world you’re in.

Click here to see more of the two colorways.

Nike Total Max Uptempo Black/Volt

Nike is set to retro a number of classic basketball sneakers such as the Nike Shox BB4 which we showed you at the end of March. In addition, Nike will also re-release the infamous Nike Total Max Uptempo.

First off, this classic will drop some time in July. It contains a mainly black base made up of nubuck (toe box, lacing tab) and leather (side panels). This shoe also possesses volt-colored accents in the form of the swoosh and the full length Air sole unit. If you recall, this model was worn consistently by Tim Duncan when he was with Nike. As stated earlier, look for this Nike Total Max Uptempo Black/Volt to hit retailers in July for $160. Click here to view detailed photos.

Air Jordan Fusion 4 “Military Blue”

Air Jordan Fusion 4 Military Blue

As the Fusion line continues, we will continue to see some of our favorite Jordan sneakers molded into more of and Air Force 1 look. Depending on your taste this could be exciting or it could be disgusting! With that said, check out this Air Jordan Fusion 4 “Military Blue”.

Obviously, this Fusion draws inspirations from the infamous Air Jordan IV “Military Blue”. It features a predominately white leather upper with grey straps, a grey toe area and blue accents throughout the base. As with previous Fusion models, this sneaker features the Air Force 1 sole which contains a blue (midsole) and white (outsole). Unlike the Fusion 4 "Fire Red", this sneaker contain the visible sole unit. The Air Jordan IV "Military Blue" is arguably one of better Jordan sneakers ever created; therefore, is this particular sneaker disrespecting the classic or is this one of the better Fusions seen yet?

Nike SB Dunk Mid Dark Chocolate

Nike SB Dunk Mid Dark Chocolate

Most of us are barely hitting summer weather in our respective locales, yet Nike SB already has the Holiday 2009 line ready and waiting. One of the first to hit the web is this Nike SB Dunk Mid Dark Chocolate.

This Dunk SB Mid features a completely Dark Chocolate upper in an obvious Boot-like inspiration. Not only the color, but the laces as well appear to be straight out of the Carhartt catalog. The premium suede is a simple and classy look, and the unlabeled strap across the ankle is a welcome look. A speckled outsole completes the look.

Will these make your holiday wish list?

Kicks On Court: ‘Birdman’ Flies High in Huarache ‘09

Posted: 26 May 2009 09:46 AM PDT

Kicks On Court

Coming into this western conference finals, we all knew the battle between Carmelo Anthony and Kobe Bryant would be nothing less than amazing. However, the difference in the series so far has been the role play of the bench. With that said, which pair of sneakers has Chris ‘Birdman’ Anderson soaring above the others?

In game 4 of the Denver Nuggets-Los Angeles Lakers series, our Kicks On Court spotted Anderson blocking shot after shot in the Nike Huarache ‘09. Inspired by the Nuggets jerseys, Anderson’s PE features a White/University Blue color scheme. Although we have seen this sneaker worn by many players in the NBA, most of the Huarache-wearers seem to be guards. Could ‘Birdman’ be setting a new trend for post players? Click here to view more kicks worn by Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Carmelo Anthony and others.

Air Jordan 3 True Blue

Air Jordan 3 True Blue

Rumors have been flying about the return of the Air Jordan 3 True Blue colorway. When we saw Wale and Kid Cudi last week in “Who Rocked It Better?“, it all but confirmed the return of this classic.

The Air Jordan 3 True Blue needs no explanation. One of the shoes that started the Elephant Print trend in the Jordan line back in the late 80’s, will be returning to retailers this August. An exact date and price hasn’t been confirmed so stick with Nice Kicks for more info.

Marquee Sole has them now for a “slight” mark up of $315.
