Posted: 08 May 2009 12:13 PM PDT

Nike Air Max 95 X-Men Pack SabretoothMarvel’s X-Men is all the buzz right now with the latest Wolverine movie hit theaters. To coincide with the film, Nike has come up with the X-Men Pack featuring inspiration from X-Men characters, such as Sabretooth for these Air Max 95’s.

The Nike Air Max 95 Sabretooth edition features all the appropriate colors to match the super-villain seen throughout the Marvel Comic books, who now makes it onto the big screen. A unique colorway and the “95″ seemingly “clawed” into the tongue of these kicks should give Sabretooth the upper hand claw when it comes to his Footwear Face Off with Wolverine.

Nike Big Nike “Wolverine”

Nike Big Nike Wolverine

In recent years, we have spotted a plethora of sneakers inspired by memorable box office movies (see Sneaker Geeks: 11 of the Best Movie Inspired Sneakers). With that said, it seems Nike will continue to use movies as inspiration to some of its classic sneakers. Check out this Nike Big Nike that draws inspiration from the recently released X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie.

Obviously, the shoe itself is inspired by Wolverine’s uniform. It features a predominately yellow leather upper with multiple blue, black and red details throughout the base. Drawing inspiration from Wolverine’s most known asset (claws), the shoe possesses claw designs as if Wolverine ripped through the side panels himself. To finish it off, this Nike Big Nike “Wolverine” is complimented with a white midsole and blue outsole. Head on over to Proper and snag a pair for $100.

By now you've seen (and voiced your opinions) on our new column that calls out celebrities rocking sneakers we all talk about on a daily basis. On Fridays we're juicing up the column (no Manny) and asking you to vote on who wore a specific sneaker, better.

For the first edition of the face-off, we have rapper-of-the-moment Drake, and Jay-Z wearing the Black/Pink Nike Air Yeezy. Sick of the sneaker yet? Yeah, us too, but it's the only one people are really talking about. Check below to see Hov and Drizzy wearing the same sneakers, then vote on who rocked it better.

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk 1.0

Posted: 07 May 2009 03:36 PM PDT

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk 1.0We’ve been seeing more and more from jeffstaple and his work with Airwalk. They have teamed up with CBS Studios and Star Trek to create a “Trekkie” edition of the Airwalk 1.0.

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk 1.0 features the Star Trek “Shield” logo in the form of a lacetag. The release date can be seen stitched into the heel area to commemorate the launch of the movie, as well as the kicks. These details, and a foil-esque finish should make for a good number of trekkies-turned-sneaker-geeks lined up, and be good for our next edition of Sneaker Geeks as well.

140 pairs are going to be available at Reed Space tomorrow, May 8th. Trekkies grab your gear you’ll want to cop these on the way to the theater!

Click here to see detailed shots of these kicks.
