Jay-Z might have said he was off Timberlands, but he was clearly fronting. Hov showed up to the MTV VMA’s this past weekend wearing some standard black-on-black 6′ Premiums. Who else showed up wearing the same boot? His lil’ brother and award show stage-crasher Kanye West. The Roc was definitely in the building, and reppin’ the classic boots, but who wore them better? | Air Force Friday Posted: 18 Sep 2009 02:58 PM PDT  Today’s Air Force Friday is like none other before it. Why, you might ask? This particular one is different because it was chosen by Nathan Crawford, a Nice Kicks reader and Air Force One lover; this is his story. Nathan Crawford is a reader from North Kingstown, Rhode Island. His favorite Air Force One is the Premium London Edition. Nathan first fell in love with the shoe while flipping through an issue of a basketball magazine that featured an article on Deron Williams. In one of the pictures, Deron was wearing the Premium London Forces, and he felt that he automatically had to have them seeing that Deron Williams is his favorite point guard. As soon as Nathan put the magazine down, he immediately hopped on eBay in order to find them. After searching for some time, he found them for a price to steep for him at the time: $165. However, he had to have them, so he broke down and bought them. Since then, he has only rocked them once. If you want your Air Force Friday story on the site, you have to do three simple things. | Release Reminder: Jordan 60+ “Laney High School” Posted: 18 Sep 2009 02:28 PM PDT  Following last month’s release of the Jordan 60+ Black/White-Varsity Red, Jordan Brand is set to release second installment of the 60+ model in the form of this “Laney High School” colorway. Check your nearest Jordan Brand retailer tomorrow, September 19th, 2009 for this 60+ colorway. This particular sneaker draws most, if not all, of its inspiration from the infamous Air Jordan 5 Retro “Laney High School”. With that said, this 60+ also pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s high school. This hybrid, which takes elements from the the Air Jordan I, the Air Jordan II, the Air Jordan V and the Air Jordan VII, owns a predominately white leather upper with royal blue and varsity maize accents throughout the upper. | Nike Air Safari 87 Retro Posted: 18 Sep 2009 01:58 PM PDT  The Nike Air Safari 87 made history, introducing a brand new design that we still see 22 years later. In the recent “Decades Pack,” a Hyperize was given the Safari treatment as a tribute to the revolutionary running sneaker. Tributes are a great way to pay homage to this Nike, but the best way is with a 2009 Retro release for the holiday season. The Safari will drop in two colors–the OG orange/black/safari, and a newer grey/black/safari. One detail that’s changed is the stitching. On the OG model, all the stitching was done in black, whereas the retro features yellow threads, highlighting the swoosh against the matching black upper. | Adidas Consortium Rod Laver Collection Pt. 2 Posted: 18 Sep 2009 01:43 PM PDT 
A couple of weeks ago, we showed you one of the more highly-detailed collections from Adidas this year in the Consortium Rod Laver Collection Pt. 2. The majority of you positively commented on your personal favorite from this collection. With that said, the entire Rod Laver Collection Pt. 2 will be available at Proper on September 19th, 2009. Adidas called upon the efforts of five collaborators for this collection including Wood Wood, D-Mop, Solebox, CLOT and Goodfoot. Each artist designed a Rod Laver model in their own resepctive way. Obviously, a plethora of materials and textures were used such as pony hair, wool, nubuck among others. | Major Jordan Brand 2009 Holiday Releases Posted: 18 Sep 2009 01:29 PM PDT  Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that Jordan Brand has some rather big releases for the 4th quarter of 2009 as always. Over the past month, we have informed you of the soon-to-be-released Air Jordan 12 “Rising Sun”, the Air Jordan 12 “Flu Game”, the Air Jordan 12 White/Red and the Air Jordan 11 “Space Jam”. However, we now have the official release dates for each one of these mega releases (shown here). Which sneaker is the best 4th quarter release in your opinion? That is a debate that may last until the end of this year; yet, the “Space Jam” seems to be the most talked-about sneaker since we first informed you of its upcoming release.
