We asked each of the Nice Kicks staffers which shoe they liked best from the past few days and you may be surprised by the results. Matt Halfhill Shame on ever fan in the Quicken Loans arena chanting Scottie Pippen implying that he was anything less of historic or amazing. Last time I checked the man won 6 rings and lead our country to gold twice in the OIympics – absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. The Air More Uptempos didn’t have Scottie’s name or number on the box or the upper, but ask anyone young and old – these shoes were the Pippens. | In Retrospect: LIVESTRONG x UNDFTD x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme Posted: 04 Dec 2010 12:58 PM PST In 2009, the Nike x LIVESTRONG partnership turned heads with its multi-sneaker “Stages” Collection. This series of sneakers produced some of the more highly-touted Air Force 1s (Busy P, Mr. Cartooon) in the trademark LIVESTRONG, black/yellow color scheme. Following these releases, Nike released a LIVESTRONG version of the UNDFTD x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme towards the end of the year. Inspired by the “On Your Feet Kid” Air Force 1s, the LIVESTRONG version contained the words, “On Your Bike Kid” to coincide with Lance Armstrong. Did you purchase the LIVESTRONG x UNDFTD x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme, and was it worth the money you paid for it? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged them last December? Your money obviously goes to the respective brand; however, when you purchase a shoe that has been created for a good cause, you are actually helping someone out. For example, those who obtained the “Doernbecher” Air Jordan 3 provided revenue for the development of the Oregon's premier Doernbecher Children's Hospital. What other sneaker releases have garnered awareness and revenue for a good cause? Specifically, Nike has partnered with a multitude of funds, campaigns and foundations to raise awareness for good causes. Campaigns such as the LIVESTRONG x Nike “Stages” Collection, the Nike “Think Pink” Series, the Doernbecher x Nike Collection and the Nike (Product) RED Lineup have all caught the attention of many sneaker enthusiasts all while raising awareness and revenue. Take a look at some of the better releases in these respective campaigns and learn what each one represents. LIVESTRONG x Lance Armstrong x Nike Campaign LIVESTRONG x Mr. Cartoon x Nike Air Force 1  LIVESTRONG x Nike Stages Collection  LIVESTRONG x Busy P x Nike Air Force 1 Inaugural Year: 2004 Overview: Lance Armstrong and Nike have collaborated on limitless amount product the beginning of their joint effort in 2004. At first, wristbands and apparel were the lone "Wear Yellow" product in an attempt to bring cancer awareness to the forefront of peoples’ minds. However, since then, both sides have released a ton of great shoes in the trademark black/yellow color scheme. Additional acts have been planned out to raise cancer awareness such as the launch of a global art exhibition that creates a new way to support the Lance Armstrong Foundation and its Global Cancer campaign. Yet, its biggest project to date is the ever-so-popular "Stages" Collection. The series brought together nearly 20 of the world’s most renowned artists to create original works of art inspired by Armstrong in hopes to raise more awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation's fight against cancer. Classic Dunk styling and color blocking are intact, but it’s the texturized upper that sets it apart. Tumbled red leather graces the heel, tongue, and toe pieces with embossed black leather set beneath it on the insert. A white midsole and black outsole finish it off in clean and classic style. | Release Reminder: Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher” Posted: 03 Dec 2010 05:13 PM PST Tomorrow, December 4th, 2010, Jordan Brand will release the highly-anticipated Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”, nationwide. This particular Air Jordan 3, the lead release in the Air Jordan Doernbecher Collection, features a multi-textured, Varsity Red upper. Specifically, a monochromatic, Varsity Red/Black cement print appears on the toe area and heel panel, while a unique, patterned leather print graces the side panels/toe box. Additional black and silver hints appear throughout the base, yet, the icy sole is arguably one of its best traits. What better way to support a great cause than this, right? The annual Doernbecher Freestyle Collection is a joint effort between Doernbecher Children's Hospital (Portland, Oregon) and Nike. Every year, a group of special Doernbecher patients, who have defeated a serious illness of some sort, are selected to design authentic Nike shoes that are sold to the public in limited numbers. | Nike Zoom KD III White/Team Orange ‘Home’ Posted: 03 Dec 2010 04:43 PM PST In the last week of November, Kevin Durant’s Oklahoma City Thunder teammates debuted the Nike Zoom KD III on the court without Kevin Durant. The 6’10″ power forward could only watch from the sideline thanks to an ankle injury. However, when he returned our Kicks On Court spotted him in this ‘Home’ edition of the Nike Zoom KD III. Durant’s ‘Home’ Nike Zoom KD III is very different from his previous two ‘Home’ signature colorways in that possesses no trace of Oklahoma City Thunder blue; nevertheless, it is a great-looking color scheme on an better silhouette. Orange hints appear in the form of the swoosh border, inner lining and tongue border, while minimal touches of Del Sol are seen on the Flywire design and rim of the Kevin Durant tongue logo. No word on when this shoe will release as of now, but stay tuned as more info should surface.
