The New Balance 420 is a running style sneaker that debut in 1979; however, this updated, metal infused version is far from you grandfather’s New Balance sneakers. It is equipped with a buttery soft full grain leather on the toe area and most of the side panel area, while also containing a soft suede back panel. However, the most interesting feature on this 420 is the metal infused nylon seen throughout the upper. This material is physically uncreaseable. | Nike iD Battle Royale Update Posted: 16 Mar 2009 01:57 PM PDT  We dropped the info about the Nike iD Battle Royale last week, even gave you a look at some of the more popular entries from both the East and West coasts. This week we’ve got a look at some of the VIP entries coming in from the East Coast Nike Sportswear location at 21 Mercer location in NYC. The Nike iD Battle Royale has a jump on the “other” tournament that begins in a few days. Our homies over at Complex have created a Dunk inspired by the classic Nike Air Huarache Flight. Their first round opponent is a pair of dunks designed by Questlove of The Roots. So before you park in front of the TV to watch the NCAA Women’s tourney selection show tonight (that is the “other” tournament right?), hit up NikeiD and vote for the better kicks. | Air Jordan Fusion 9 White/Midnight Navy Posted: 16 Mar 2009 12:40 PM PDT  We just gave you a look at the Jordan Fusion 9 Lineup, which featured a few nice new colorways of the high top version. However, today we get our first look at one of the low top versions that is going to be dropping in the future, thanks to 52xie. The Air Jordan Fusion 9 Midnight Navy low top version is a similar colorway to the retro Air Jordan 9 but as with all Fusions, it’s placed on top of an Air Force 1 sole. A unique feature we haven’t seen on the AJF9 so far is the reptile-skin like finish that wraps around the uppers. This particular make-up also features a Columbia Blue inner liner that not only sets the shoe off, but completes the Carolina Tarheels look, just in time for March Madness. | Nike SB Dunk High Premium “Gucci” Posted: 16 Mar 2009 09:08 AM PDT  The Nike SB Dunk High Premium “Gucci” was originally created back in 2006, and now according to kenlu, these once extremely limited kicks may be making a come back in the 4th quarter of 2009. Originally only about 30 pairs were made, no word on how limited they will be this time around but they will be released as a premium quickstrike. They were definitely one of the highlights on our Gucci Inspired list last year. The black denim combined with green and red leather is unique look and will definitely be on most cop lists. | Nike Air Force 1 “Playstation” 10th Anniversary Posted: 16 Mar 2009 09:05 AM PDT  When the Nike Air Force 1 “Playstation” first revealed itself, many people dubbed them as the sickest Nike Air Force 1’s seen in a long time. Some people could not believe their eyes (see Kobe). Well, to honor the Playstation 2’s 10th Anniversary, Sony has persuaded Nike to re-release this sneaker in a very small quantity (50 pairs). This one-of-a-kind Air Force 1 still contains the infamous gradient colorway from ankle area to heel, while also possessing the Playstation logo in the same area. The front part of the sneaker contains a black patent leather base mixed with purple shoelaces. This time, the Nike Air Force 1 “Playstation” was only created for the media, Sony execs and VIPs; however, there is a size 12 on eBay right now. However, we have now found a more simple yet stylish colorway of the Vans Forty-Four. This colorway is also a part of the aforementioned pack. It features a predominately grey base with gold accents on the side panels and tongue. It is also complimented with a white stripe on the side panels and a white rubber sole. | Eric Dressen x Vans Syndicate Half Cab Posted: 16 Mar 2009 08:26 AM PDT  Eric Dressen is no doubt a skate legend, riding since the late 70’s. Turning pro at the age of 12 pretty much guarantees legend status. Yeah he did that. Dressen recently worked with the Vans Syndicate team on some Half Cabs. The Eric Dressen x Vans Syndicate Half Cab features the “S” designed by Mr. Cartoon for the Syndicate line. Eric puts his personal signature on these shoes, literally, by having it imprinted on the inner liner. This grey and black colorway is done up in a mix of materials, including wool and suede. The Syndicate line is limited in numbers, and usually goes quickly, so hit up UNIV to get your hands on a pair. |
