March Madness is one of the most exciting times for sports junkies, and, around this time of year, many college basketball brackets have been filled out only to be demolished by first round upsets. However, this year, we have decided to add our twist to all the madness. With that said, Nice Kicks proudly presents the March Madness Footwear Faceoff where you, the readers, will partake in deciding the best college Hyperdunk ID colorway. Game day by game day, leading up to the NCAA Championship, there will be a toe to toe match-ups (literally) of Hyperdunk IDs representing the respective teams that play on that specific day.
The result of this contest is that all of those who take part in the March Madness Footwear Faceoff, and sign up to the Nice Kicks newsletter, are automatically entered into a drawing where you can win the right to create your own Nike Hyperdunk ID free of charge. In other words, take part and vote for your favorites and get signed up on the list so you don't miss out on the action.
The Nike Hyperdunk ID Champion will be crowned on Tuesday, April 7th, so for example, if the University of North Carolina Nike Hyperdunk ID colorway is your choice, and it wins, your name has a chance to be drawn for the prize.
The NCAA Tournament Opening Round Game takes place tonight between Morehead State and Alabama State. Click the jump to vote on whose Nike Hyperdunk ID colorway is the best!

Many heads are getting amped up for the return of the Nike Air Griffey Max, but one shoe not to overlook is the Air Max 95 “Fresh Water.” Borrowing hues and cues from the Griffs, the Air Max 95s come with 95 enthusiasts favorite dark midsole with the black to white fade on the upper. Look for these Air Max 95’s at Foot Locker stores nationwide for $145.
Sole Collector continues with their poster series tackling arguably the public’s favorite Air Jordan, the Air Jordan 11. The classic Space Jams are the featured pair on the poster that show clean side shots of every Air Jordan 11 to ever release and some that never made it to production.
This limited print is available now at Sole Collector for $19.99.
Love and hate are somehow lacking in describing how people feel about the Air Jordan 2009. Passionately one way or the other is more like it. We’ve seen quite a few AJ 2009 PE’s in our Kicks On Court series, but noticeably absent has been Team Jordan member Carmelo Anthony.
Air Jordan 2009 Carmelo Anthony PE features a simple white and light blue make-up to go with his Denver Nuggets team colors. Melo’s number 15 is applied to the tongue as well. The blown-glass like midsole somehow really pops on this colorway despite being two relatively light colors. Melo hasn’t been spotted on court with them, but you can bet with a little time he will be.
The Nike video game inspiration continues with the Nike Blazer “Nintendo Wii”. We’ve now seen three releases done up in the popular gaming system colors and features. First was the Air Force 2 followed by the Air Max 95.
The Blazer features a slightly different color “power button” on the tongue than the previous Wii inspired kicks. It does have the freshest sole though, as the bottoms are done up in a beautiful icy blue coloring. Matrix-like graphics are applied to the eyelet section, tying in the electronics side of the Wii nicely. Pebbled leather and a micro-perf toebox complete this premium release. Arguably the best Wii inspired kicks so far.
Since 2009 began, we have seen a plethora of upcoming Vans releases; however, none have been as fresh, vivid and eye-catching as the Vans x Supreme Spring 2009 Collection.
Included in this pack will be four colorways of the Vans Era and four colorways of the Vans Half Cab (white, black, green, black). All styles contain leather lining, insoles and canvas uppers. In addition, the eight sneakers involved are complimented by a white rubber sole. As for release information, this Vans x Supreme Lineup will release in-store and on Supreme’s website on March 19th. Japan’s release date falls on March 20th. Will the be one of the better Vans releases for 2009?
Bun B speaks on sneakers, OG’s and retros, and how hip hop artists push sneaker industry into the mainstream. Bun also drops the info on the final UGK album, UGK 4 Life.
One of Nike’s classic, highly anticipated sneakers is now available at Proper. At the beginning of the year, we showed you this Nike Air Griffey Max 1 as part of our 9 Sneakers to Look out for in ‘09.
The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 debuted in 1996, and many have waited impatiently for a retro release. It features a predominately black base with minimal white accents on the side panels and sole. Fresh water accents also appear throughout the upper and on the visible air sole unit.

The Nike Foamposite Lite “Kryptonate” drops today, Nate Robinson will be on hand at House of Hoops from 4-5:30PM to unveil the shoes. Picking up some neon green kicks sounds like a good way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day to me. How bout you?
We first got a peak at the Seersucker AM1 last week, but they were across the pond, or two. Now they’ve started to hit retailers here in the States.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Seersucker” is a perfect shoe for spring, classic style and light colors. Of course the gum bottom is always a good thing as well. These Air Max 1’s also receive a unique labeling on the heel area that definitely keeps things fresh.
