Big Boi’s Suspicious Kicks on CNN

Big Boi's Suspicious Kicks on CNN

Last week Big Boi took the stage in his hometown of Atlanta to perform as the headlining act for the traveling sneaker show Sneaker Pimps in a pair of sneakers that raised some eyebrows in the crowd and later online. CNN covered the event and spoke to Big Boi his one-of-a-kind “Buggs Bunny” Nike Air Jordan VIIIs.

Big Boi boasted to CNN that his collection stacks 400 pairs deep and that he rarely pays for his shoes as shoe companies send him pairs.

No official word has been released from Jordan Brand or Nike regarding their relationship with Big Boi, but I have a feeling that this pair of suspicious kicks did not come from Beaverton.

Converse Co* (Co-Star)

Posted: 27 May 2009 12:28 PM PDT

Coverse Co Star

At the beginning of April, we showed you some of Converse’s Fall 2009 Skateboarding lineup. Many of you gave Converse props for venturing out into the skate shoe world. In addition, Converse is set to release another exclusive model dubbed the Co* (Co-Star).

The Converse Co* seems to the follow in the footsteps of the ever-so-popular high top sneaker that seems to be everywhere today (see Yeezy, RT1, Skytop). This particular shoe contains a 100% red upper mixed with a white rubber sole. The Converse logos, seen on the side panels and tongue, are also colored in white. Look for this colorway and others to release exclusively at Footlocker throughout the upcoming months. What are your thoughts on the newly-designed Converse Co*?

The Air Jordan 3 “True Blue” is timeless and may already be beginning to outshine some other retros on the radar for later this year. With a predominantly white upper, Elephant Print and True Blue accents these kicks hard to pass up even for the stingiest monochromatic wearing sneakerheads.

These are set to drop later this summer but you can skip the line and pick up your pair early at VMVInc for $250.

Jay-Z and T.I also make appearances rockin' some classics. Hit the jump to see all the pics, and let us know in the comments who you think was crushing it the most.

Vans Fall 2009 City Pack

Vans is set to drop the City Pack this Fall with colorways to rep your city’s team colors. A number of silhouettes have been thrown into the mix, all of which treated in classic color combinations, as well as some matching shirts for each city.

Vans chose four major cities for the Vans Fall 2009 City Pack, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Knicks colors are applied to the Half Cab and Era silhouettes. The Sk8 Mid & Half Cab receive the Los Angeles Dodger blue treatment. The Chi gets the classic black and red spread across the Old Skool and Sk8 Hi. Last, but first in my book, uphold your Bayness with some black and orange Era’s or Old Skool’s.

Check out the kicks for each of the four cities by clicking here.

Nike Zoom LeBron VI MVP Detailed Look

Earlier this month we saw King James be crowned MVP by the NBA, Nike in turn created a special makeup of the Zoom LeBron VI to honor LeBron’s accomplishment. Today, just a few days before these kicks release at House of Hoops on the 30th (Saturday), we get a detailed look at these kicks.

The Nike Zoom LeBron VI MVP features the words “Witness” and “MVP” scattered throughout the uppers. White and Navy colors makeup the color combo, with the exception of a hint of well placed gold accents. Clear sole panels reveal gold specks placed underneath as well. If nothing else, these will make an excellent parting gift for LeBron and the Cavs as they exit the Playoffs here shortly.

Nike Air Max 1 Black/Red-White

Posted: 27 May 2009 09:03 AM PDT

Nike Air Max 1 Black/Red-White

Last week, we spotlighted the retro release of the OG Nike Air Max 1 colorway, and many of you were ecstatic about this shoe finally dropping again. Obviously, it is nothing like seeing a classic sneaker coming back after a very long hiatus; however, we have now spotted an exclusive Air Max 1 that uses a very similar color scheme.

Similar to the aforementioned OG colorway, this shoe also contains multiple red details throughout the base, yet, it uses black on the upper instead of grey. Black mesh appears on the toe box and parts of the side panels, while red mesh is located on the top of the heel panel. Other features include a black outsole, a white midsole and a red visible Air sole unit. You can now purchase a pair at Overkill. Click here to view detailed photos.

Nike Air Force 1 “LeBron” Pack

Posted: 27 May 2009 08:31 AM PDT

Nike Air Force 1 LeBron Pack

At the beginning of May,we spotlighted the Custom Air Force 1 LeBron James was presented with in lieu of him winning the 2008-09 MVP Award. Many of you thought it was a very fresh sneaker and stated that if it were an actual release you would by a pair without a doubt. Obviously, that shoe will never drop, yet, we have spotted two LeRron James-associated that will release very soon.

One pair draws inspiration from the Cleveland Cavs jerseys. It contains a heavily-perforated cream suede base with minimal maroon accents on the shoelaces, tongue and inner lining. Coinciding with the wine-colored Nike tag logo on the tongue, this shoe also possesses a classic gum bottom outsole and a clear midsole. The remaining pair uses a basic Black/Red base mixed with a white midsole. This pair is supposedly inspired by Ohio State’s color scheme. Click here to view additional photos.
