Nike Air Max 90 “Day of the Dead”

Nike Air Max 90 "Day of the Dead"

We gave you all a small glimpse at this AM90 from the “Day of the Dead Pack” a few days ago as part of the Nike Holiday Sneak Peek. Now we have some detailed photos of this Halloween special.

Because it is for Halloween, it of course features orange and black. In this case, the orange works as an accent and on the tongue label, as well as part of the graphics. Purple is used on the swoosh and works with limes green and yellow on the wild side graphics along the side. A t-shirt is also included in the pack, featuring Day of the Dead graphics that glow in the dark.

DDCLAB x New Balance M510 Collection

Posted: 10 Sep 2009 10:58 AM PDT

New Balance M510

If you recall, DDCLAB and New Balance hooked up last year on the amazing pair of "The Reflective 420? in which many of you applauded because of its highly-detailed attributes. Although not as detailed as the aforementioned collaboration, both sides have joined efforts again to design two multi-colored M510 models.

One pair (shown to the right) features a predominately white-colored base combined with minimal red accents in the form of the toe area, shoelaces, tongue and heel panel. In addition, the midfoot area is also colored in black and grey. The remaining pair also contains a mostly white upper; however, it owns more grey and black shades on the base along with hints of yellow. Both pairs also complimented with a white midsole and a black outsole. No word yet on when this shoe will release; meanwhile, what are your thoughts on this collaboration?

Gabriel Dishaw “Frankenstein Terminators” Junk Art

Gabriel Dishaw "Frankenstein Terminators" Junk Art

For sneakerheads, our collections are wearable art. But sometimes it works in reverse, and art collections features shoes. Yesterday we showed you a Shepard Fairey MJ Print, and today we bring you another Nike-inspired piece of art–Gabriel Dishaw’s “Frankenstein Terminators” junk art.

Dishaw is based out of Indiana and specializes in using “junk” like scrap metal and spare computer parts to create sculptures. This is actually his third Nike-related bit of work, and you can check out the other two on his website. The Nike Terminator is a classic high-top silhouette, and Dishaw wanted to, “[...]do it right by making the entire package: from the shoes, to the shoe box, label, diagram and shoe tags.” This sculpture is an incredible piece, and its clear that Dishaw, who is a sneaker fiend himself, did this just right.

Air Jordan 12

This past weekend, we showed you the Air Jordan 12 Retro White/Varsity Red for the first time this year, and the comment section was filled with nothing but positive remarks on this sneaker. While we wait three months for this highly anticipated sneaker to release, check out the some of the more detailed Air Jordan 12 Retro White/Varsity Red photos to date.

As we stated in our previous post, this classic sneaker will hit retailers some time during the winter season of this year. Wouldn’t this be a great holiday gift for somebody special? More than likely, that ’someone special’ will probably be yourself! Besides the obvious white/red color scheme on most of the base, this shoe also owns minimal black accents on the heel panel, tongue area and inner lining. Which super, holiday season release is more important to you: the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Space Jam” or this Air Jordan 12 Retro?

Nike Air Zoom BB III “White Men Can’t Jump”

Posted: 10 Sep 2009 09:28 AM PDT

Nike Zoom BB III "White Men Can't Jump"“White Men Can’t Jump” has a long history of inspiring Nike sneakers, including the popular Hyperize Pack and Air Flight Lite High, so it should come as no surprise that one of Nike’s lesser-hyped basketball sneakers has gotten the Billy Hoyle treatment in the Zoom BB III.

As would be expected, the colors are more 1992 than Vanilla Ice and his Mustang 5.0, including a neon yellow swoosh and bright orange heel tab. Aqua accents on the forefoot and tongue add some additional color, too. The sole uses Nike’s Zoom technology and this sneaker even made it to the feet of some of the NBA’s fastest PGs in 2008 and 2009, including Steve Nash, Tony Parker and Rajon Rondo. While it’s safe to say this colorway won’t be seen on the hardwood, does it make your list of must-haves as we near hoops season?

Nike Air Max LeBron VII “NYC”

Posted: 10 Sep 2009 09:05 AM PDT

Nike Air Max LeBron VII

Although we showed you the preliminary photos of Steve Nash’s new sneaker dubbed the Cradle Rock Low Supreme, the day would not be complete without some LeBron news, right? With that said, Nike has just released the New York City version of the Air Max LeBron VII at select retailers such as House of Hoops in Harlem.

As with the previous city-dedicated Air Max LeBron VII’s, this particular shoe also possesses the white/green color scheme that draws inspiration from ‘King James’ high school, St. Vincent St. Mary’s. On the New York City version, a photo of LeBron with his hands surrounding his mouth (as if calling out a play) graces the tongue area and quarter panel. In addition, the letters, NYC appear on the heel section of the Air sole unit in gold. Click here to view additional photos.

New Balance M575J WF “Pony Hair”

Posted: 10 Sep 2009 08:28 AM PDT

New Balance M575J WF "Pony Hair"We’ve seen some pretty creative takes on New Balance’s simple silhouettes and generally traditional colorways, like the “Feral Creation Collection we featured yesterday. And it that vein, we give you the NB M575j WF “Pony Hair.”

While it was black pony hair used in the aforementioned collection, this Newbie uses tan hair over a white premium leather upper. That’s pretty much all there is to these, with the exception of the light splatter graphics on the heel, and the leather laces, which look like they took inspiration from horse reins to keep in theme with the hair.

For those that are interested, these are now available at atmos Japan. How do these stack up against other NB’s we’ve seen before, or even other sneakers that use pony hair?
