Nike Air Yeezy Black/Black for Doernbecher Charity Auction Posted: 14 Sep 2009 12:58 PM PDT Last week, we reported about Nike releasing two original styles of the Nike Air Yeezy for the Doernbecher Charity auction. With that said, we showed you the Air Jordan VI x Nike Air Yeezy for the Doernbecher Auction earlier today; furthermore, Nike has unleashed yet another original Air Yeezy on eBay in a size 12. If you recall, this particular Air Yeezy was worn by Kanye West himself during his performance at the 50th annual Grammy Awards. Similar to the aforementioned Air Jordan VI x Nike Air Yeezy, this pair also features an all-black upper; yet, it is done up in 100% leather rather that a mixture of textures. As added features, this shoe also contains a glow-in-the-dark sole and will come in a detailed wooden box. You can place your bid on eBay now. | Read the rest of Nike Air Yeezy Black/Black for Doernbecher Charity Auction © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2009. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Nike, Nike Air Yeezy |
NJ Skateshop x IPath Fred Gall Posted: 14 Sep 2009 12:28 PM PDT IPath footwear has teamed up with NJ Skateshop for this limited edition Fred Gall sneaker for October. The colorway came straight from the NJ Transit system, using fuschia, tan, teal and orange. A special “NJ” logo appears near the heel, as well. The all-canvas construction uses a strap at the ankle for extra support when you’re skating, or just for style if you’re not one to shred. This a definitely a break from the traditional basketball and lifestyle shoes we cover, but the rise in the popularity for skate shoes is undeniable. Are these something only Garden State skaters should support, or can get behind these? Nike Air Max Spot Up Black/White/Blue-Varsity Maize Posted: 14 Sep 2009 11:28 AM PDT With the excessive amount of Kobe IV’s and Air Max LeBron VII’s surfacing recently, it is hard to recognize other basketball player’s signature sneakers. Last week, we showed you Steve Nash’s upcoming sneaker dubbed the Nike Cradle Rock Low Supreme which received a plethora of positive remarks. In addition, we have spotted a new colorway of his former teammate, Dirk Nowitski’s sneaker dubbed the Nike Air Max Spot Up. Due to the colorway, it is highly unlikely that we will see Dirk sporting this particular sneaker when the 2009-2010 NBA season begins. However, it is arguably one of the better color schemes we have seen on the Air Max Spot Up. It features a predominately black leather upper with minimal varsity maize accents in the form of the swoosh border, perforations in the toe area and the visible Air sole unit. In addition, the midfoot area and sole are done up in white with the latter area containing hints of sky blue. This is definintely the most colorful Air Max Spot Up we have seen to say the least. Available now at Schuh-You. Air Jordan VI x Nike Air Yeezy for Doernbecher Auction Posted: 14 Sep 2009 10:28 AM PDT Obviously, the Nike Air Yeezy was one of the most highly anticipated releases of 2009. Likewise, the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Red will be one of the highly anticipated releases of 2010. However, as a Doernbecher auction, Mark Smtih and his team withing the Nike’s Innovation Kitchen, has fused both models to form this one-of-a-kind sneaker. This unique shoe is available on eBay in a size 12. This sneaker simply owns the Nike Air Yeezy base combined with the Air Jordan VI sole. The upper also features multiple textures on the upper including leather, suede and patent leather (strap). This pairing raises a lot of questions. Does the Air Yeezy look better with the Air Jordan VI sole or do you prefer the original way it looks? Should Nike start fusing more classic sneakers together? As stated earlier, you can place your bid on eBay now; however, expect to pay a heft price as the bid is now at $5000! | Read the rest of Air Jordan VI x Nike Air Yeezy for Doernbecher Auction © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2009. | Permalink | 16 comments | Add to del.icio.us Post tags: Air Jordan 6, Nike, Nike Air Yeezy |
Nike Blazer “Godzilla Pack” Posted: 14 Sep 2009 09:58 AM PDT The big green monster from Japan has terrorized New York, Tokyo and everywhere in between in the decades since his inception. And to pay tribute to the flame-spitting lizard, Nike has designed this two-Blazer “Godzilla Pack.” One pair resembles the monster himself, boasting a scaly green base with dark green accents and a tan sole. The other pays tribute to Godzilla’s destruction, using a black upper with purple tear marks printed on. The swoosh is done with perforation, leaving the destruction as the focal point. Is this pack set for classic status like the original movie, or more questionable than the 1998 remake?
