LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Zoom Tiempo TZ “Mellow Johnny’s” Posted: 19 Oct 2009 12:58 PM PDT Austin is known for its laid back attitude, hosting more live music per capita than anywhere else in the world and being the home to legendary biker Lance Armstrong. It’s also home to Lance’s Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop, and following up on the LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Zoom Tiempo TZ pack is another pair dedicated to that cycling hot-spot. Because they’re a LIVESTRONG dedication, they of course iare decked out in black and yellow. The uppers mix premium oiled leather and tear-resistant suede, ideal for riders. Mellow Johnny’s logo appears on both tongues, and the insoles are designed differently, though each pays tribute to the collaborative efforts. And because these are a very limited release that will be available at 21 Mercer and Lance’s shop, the host town is paid tribute with “Austin” and “Texas” on the heels of each respective shoe. Expect these to drop this Saturday, October 24th, at the above locations. Solebox x Reebok Pump Posted: 19 Oct 2009 11:58 AM PDT We closed out last week with looks at the 20th anniversary-honoring Colette x Reebok Pump and the Atmos x Court Victory collaborations, and now we have the third celebratory sneaker in this Solebox x Reebok Pump. Dressed up in black premium glove leather with hits of yellow for accent, these Pumps use similar color blocking to the aforementioned Colettes. The details set these apart though, as these use a light-up Pump bubble on the tongue, glow in the dark eyestays and bungee laces with a tie-free fastening system. We also can confirm some more of Reebok’s selected collaborators, which include heavy-hitters A.R.C., UNDFTD, Atmos, Size? and Patta among others. Jordan L’Style Black/Voltage Yellow Posted: 19 Oct 2009 11:28 AM PDT At the beginning of October, we showed you Jordan Brand’s newest and latest casual sneaker line which features models such as the Blase Mid, the Campus Chukka and the Jordan L’Style. The latter style has just released at RMK Store in a colorway we did not show in the aforementioned post. Similar to the L’Style colorways we have seen in the past, this particular sneaker features a predominately leather-based silhouette dipped in black. However, its most glaring feature is the voltage yellow contrast stitching throughout the upper. This detail is paired along with an outsole of the same color. As stated earlier, this L’Style is now available at RMK Store. Converse EB2 - Black Posted: 19 Oct 2009 10:58 AM PDT With the loss of Dwyane Wade to Jordan Brand, Converse will look to other sneaker lines to carry the load for this upcoming season. Although no one will argue that Elton Brand is on the same plane as Wade, this EB2 is a nice sneaker at a great price. We saw the white and black version of this shoe earlier, and reception for the sneaker itself was warm, and at only $65 this is definitely an purpose-built court shoe. The uppers on these are black nubuck with a matching black strap, and both receive white contrast stitching. Converse’s logo appears in white with a red outline along the side, and Brand’s signature logo appears near the collar. If you recall, the EB2 is available exclusively in stores at JCPenney and online at Converse, and these are available now at a mall near you. Nike Cortez Flymotion “Mexico” Posted: 19 Oct 2009 09:58 AM PDT Nike’s classic Cortez appears here with Flywire and Free technologies, and taking the name Flymotion with it. Dubbed the “Mexico,” these Nikes use a red, green and white colorway. The Free sole takes on the green color, adding flexibility and reducing weight on the classic version. The uppers are all white, utilizing Flywire along the mid-panels. Red is used as well, accenting the sole near the heel and the logo on the tongue. The Cortez hasn’t been known as a performance sneaker since the creation of Zoom, Air Max and other Nike technologies, but these look ready for a nice long run.
