Converse Chuck Taylor Padded Collar

Posted: 21 Oct 2009 12:58 PM PDT

Converse Chuck Taylor

Converse has applied many different designs and attributes to the classic Chuck Taylor model this year such as the “Felt” Pack, the “Sweatshirt” and the “Quilted”. In its most recent attempt to keep the Chuck Taylor an ever-changing sneaker, Converse has added yet another quality.

The Chuck Taylor, shown to the right, features an extended padded collar. Specifically, the revamped collar is rather enlarged and possesses an inflated look. The Chuck Taylor padded collar will come in this black/white color scheme and a grey/white colorway shown here. Both pairs will release on November 15th, 2009 as a part of Converse’s “Alway’s On” music campaign. What are your thoughts on this newly-designed Chuck Taylor?

Nike Air Structure Triax 91 - Black/Yellow

The Air Structure Triax has been dropping in clean colorways consistently for some time now. Next up is this black and yellow pair, slated for a Holiday release later this year. The last colorway we saw was for this ladies with this Swan/Sport Red colorway, and many of you were looking for a retailer carrying the men’s size-up equivalent.

This particular pair uses an all black upper of nubuck and mesh. White is used on the outsole, top eyestay and heel panel. A dark grey and yellow midsole adds in not only color, but design thanks to the zig-zag design. The Swoosh and tongue also use this color.

Be on the lookout for these in the near future and stay tuned for release information when it becomes available.

Bobbito

Bobbito Garcia has been a staple in the shoe game and its community for quite some time. He has been the spearhead in collabs with major brands such as Nike, Reebok and Under Armour. Now, the legend that some of you know as DJ Cool Bob Love has now come together with Pro-Keds for his spin on the classic Royal Flash model. Everyone knows that that Bobbito usually has the Midas touch when it comes to collaborations as evident by these photos of the aforementioned Royal Flash.

While everyone can see the great result of the Bobbito Royal Flash, not too many people know the history and the thought process that went into making this classic. Nice Kicks sat down with Bobbito, the author of the Sneaker Bible “Where’d you Get Those”, to get a better understanding of the history and culture that both him and the Royal Flash carries.

With that being said, click here to read the interview with the legendary Bobbito Garcia.

adidas Forum Mid

adidas Forum Mid

The last time we saw adidas’ Forum Mid it was as a part of the Def Jam x adidas Pack in lime green and black. A new colorway is available now though, having dropped lime green for a healthy does of bright yellow.

Yellow is used on the toe, laces, strap and a good bit of the upper. The outsole also receives the same color-up and sits under a white midsole. Black leather makes up the rest of these, keeping them very simple.

The Forum’s been out for a long time, and adidas keeps hitting us with more takes on both the Low and Mid versions. These are available now through adidas online.

Nike SB Stefan Janoski Twitter Sneak Peeks

Nike SB Stefan Janoski Twitter Sneaks

Stefan Janoski’s Twitter account leaks Nikes like a factory in China. In the past week, we’ve seen his green and black gator skin signatures and an all white perforated model. Three more have surfaced though, as seen here in these grey corduroy, green corduroy and peacock print Nike SBs.

The green pair uses a white sole with a green corduroy upper, accented with brown leather laces. The second pair looks black, but it is in fact a dark grey, accented with a black vulcanized sole. The third leak is by far the wildest of the bunch, as it’s covered in peacock print, similar to the way Michael Lau decked out a pair with woodgrain. The first two are very likely to release come Spring 2010, though the peacocks may be too wild to ever hit retail.

With all the Stefan Janoskis we’ve seen lately, which is your favorite? Are you a fan of the wild or the subdued look for this simple silhouette?
