Nike Bespoke Air Force 1 by GDP

Nike Bespoke Air Force 1 by GDP

GDP took a cue from Prince for his Bespoke Air Force 1, hitting up the design studio at 21 Mercer for multiple ways to rain purple on his Nikes. We see a lot of AF1s get churned out in a variety of styles, but right off the back, anyone who is a fan of purple will recognize these as a very clean take on what is possible with the Bespoke program.

Canvas composes the majority of these, as it’s used along the laces and on the toe box and topside of the toe. The mid-panel that backs up the white Swoosh is made with a slightly darker shade of purple in nubuck, while the suede on the heel portion is almost lavender. 3M completes the look, appearing on the tongue and heel portions.

Click here for more pics. Are these a solid example of the cleaner ways to do up Bespokes?

Hotel on Rivington x DC Admiral Sport

Posted: 27 Oct 2009 12:28 PM PDT

DC Admiral

This past summer, DC released a red Admiral as a joint effort with the help of Hotel on Rivington. Upon seeing the first photos, the comment section was filled with both positive and negative remarks on the collaboration. Now, Hotel on Rivington and DC are set to release their second collaboration design on the same model next year.

First off, this is Hotel on Rivington and DC’s second Admiral together; however, it is their fourth collaboration overall. This particular pair owns a predominately black premium leather base combined with an off-white, vintage-like sole. The latter area also features the words, Hotel on Rivington. As a nice, contrasting detail, this Admiral possesses a red ankle strap which represents the hotel color scheme. Click here to view additional photos.

Nike SB Zoom Air Harbor

Posted: 27 Oct 2009 11:58 AM PDT

Nike SB Zoom Air Harbor

We see a lot of black and grey colorways dubbed “Raiders,” but we’ll refrain on this pair of Zoom Air Harbors, as their clean looks make them a “win,” and we know how rare it is lately that Oakland and winning are associated.

Team association aside, the greyscale color blocking of these often overlooked Nike SBs provides a nice look for the cooler weather, while keeping the white Swoosh and sole to keep the classic look. The entirety of the upper is suede, using black for the toe and heel caps. The mid-panel and tongue use grey, though the latter is mad with mesh for breathability. The dark toe cap should help with wear for those who will actually skate these.

And while we may have made a joke at the Raider Nation above, it’s all in good fun. The most loyal fanbase in the land is sure to appreciate these, as they don silver in black no matter their team’s situation, and that’s something we can all respect. The real question is, do you respect these sneaks enough to grab a pair?

adidas Originals Superstar “LA Lakers”

Posted: 27 Oct 2009 11:43 AM PDT

Adidas

To many people’s excitement, the 2009-2010 NBA season begins tonight. The world champion Los Angeles Lakers are one of the teams that have a game on opening night. At the beginning of their game against the Clippers, the NBA will acknlowedge their championship with a ring ceremony and a banner raising. In addition, adidas will be honoring the Lakers’s feat by releasing a special edition Superstar colorway.

Obviously, this Superstar’s colorway is inspired by the Lakers color scheme. It features a mainly metallic gold leather upper with the multiple yellow and purple accents throughout the upper. Specifically, the infamous Lakers logo is seen on the tongue just below the adidas logo and on the insole. The latter area also feautres the number 15 which represents the 15th NBA championship for the Lakers. In addition, the three stripes are done up in purple and yellow, while the toe cap, shoelaces and the sole are colored in white. How does this Superstar stack up against previous Lakers inspired sneakers? Click here to view detailed photos.

Nike Air Structure Triax ‘91 Sail/Green Blade

Posted: 27 Oct 2009 11:28 AM PDT

Nike Air Structure Triax

Nike continues to cater to the women with stupendous Air Structure Triax ‘91 colorways. We spotted the recently-released persian violet/black and the swan/sport red that releases during the spring of 2010. Along with the latter colorway, Nike will unleash this Air Structure Triax ‘91 during the same time.

As stated earlier, this particular Triax ‘91 was created solely for the women; however, the majority of you guys would nonetheless sport this sneaker. It features a predominately sail-colored base with minimal green blade accents on the top laceholders, tongue logo and the sole. In addition, a blue shade appears in the form of the swoosh contrast stitching, the heel tab and the sole.  Another interesting feature on this shoe is the various mesh-like sections, namely on the tongue. And 1 Tai Chi

Posted: 27 Oct 2009 10:58 AM PDT

And 1 Tai Chi

Without heading to Google, it’s unlikely that all of us can say right away what shoe Brent Barry wore when he won the NBA Dunk Contest. Some of our younger readers might not even know he won it at all.

But what about the shoe Vince Carter wore? When VC forever changed the Dunk Contest, he also put the And 1 Tai Chi on the map, and turned a small-time sneaker line into one of the most sought-after shoes of the year 2000, despite its simple design and low price.

On November 12, the And 1 Tai Chi will release in a black and white colorway exclusive to Foot Locker. While not the same as the red and white pair Vince wore when he reinvented JR Rider’s dunk, the yin-and-yang-inspired sneaker holds a special place in the hearts of many of us. At a projected cost of only $70, the Tai Chi is a proven court shoe, split in half between black and white by design.

Does this And 1 hold a special place in your heart enough to cause you grab a pair in a few weeks? Head to the comments section and let us know.

Reebok Pump Omni Lite

Since this is the 20th anniversary of the ‘Pump’, we have seen a plethora of them lately including the Pump Court Victory 2 Pack, Bodega x Reebok Pump "Outback", Solebox x Reebok Pump and the Colette x Reebok Pump. While most of those are collaborations, we have spotted a general release Omni Pump at select retailers including Sneaker Bistro.

This Omni Pump features a very interesting color scheme to say the least. It owns a red and black checkerboard-like, plaid base covered by an army green patent leather overlay. The shoelaces are also done up in army green. To finish it off, this Omni Pump is complimented with a white midsole and a black and red outsole. Click here to view additional photos.
