Seeing that the 2009-2010 NBA season just began, we are sure to see an abundance of NBA-inspired sneakers throughout the last quarter of the year. A couple of days ago, photos of a adidas Originals Superstar "LA Lakers" surfaced in honor of the Los Angeles Lakers ring and banner-hanging ceremony. adidas has now created a group of Centennials that pays tribute to spiecific teams in the western conference.
The teams honored in this pack include the Houston Rockets (shown to the right), the San Antonio Spurs, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets. All pairs possess a 100% suede base, a enlarged vintage tongue and a white sole; each pair will also come with an extra set of laces in an additional color. Available now at Adidas’s online store. The Structure Triax 91 is a favorite for Nice Kicks readers it seems. When we first saw this colorway awhile back, many of you immediately responded with a “copped” or asked when they would come out. Well good news for those of you who want a pair, as they’re now available for pre-order at End.
We also know that these will drop sometime soon, during the beginning of November. These use a black upper of nubuck and mesh, while white is used on the outsole, top lace hole and heel panel. A dark grey and yellow midsole adds in color with its zig-zag design. The Swoosh and tongue also use the same shade of yellow.
Are these on your list, or are you planning to pass? Head to the comments section and weigh in.
Uniform Experiment and Nike have hooked up in the past to design some rather interesting designs. So far, we have seen them collaborate on the Tennis Classic and the Air Zoom All Court Premium. Nike is now set to release another joint effort in the form of this SFB Chukka next week.
This all-black everything SFB Chukka obviously contains a couple of boot-inspired qualities including the lacing construction and the sole. If you recall, this SFB Chukka is merely a lower cut version of the SFB Military Boot. As an added feature, this sneaker also features a Uniform Experiment logo on the heel panel. Along with this sneaker, both sides also joined efforts on a matching briefcase. Both will be available at SOPH and Isetan on November 2nd, 2009. Click here to view detailed photos of each.
When the leaves change colors, it’s important that your sneakers do too. And for the Fall, Nike’s pumped out a Sweet Classic in both a high and a low cut in brown hues.
Using Nikes newest retro style design element, the vulcanized sole, both shoe use perforated suede for their uppers. The high cut pair is dressed in Cinder brown with a black Swoosh, which matches the stripe along the tan sole. The low cut pair uses Haystack suede for its upper, while the same Cinder brown is used for the Swoosh, heel tab and laces. An off-white Sail sole completes the colorway. Both are currently available at select retailers.
These Del Barco LX’s can undoubtedly compliment any classic look. One pair features a mixture of white premium leather and nubuck on the upper in a mid-cut silouhette. This lineup also possesses a low-cut Del Barco Lx with the same attributes. The other two Del Barco LX’s contain a blue-colored base done up in the premium leather and nubuck. All sneakers involved contain a white vulcanized rubber sole and boat sneaker lacing consturction. Available now at select Vans retailers. Click here to view detailed photos.
By now you know that Reebok has really poured themselves into The Pump and celebrating its 20th Anniversary.
Two videos have been put together, highlighting the collaboration process and what the 20 brands who have paired with the shoemaker went through to start their creative process. We hear from the minds at Bodega, Size? and Commonwealth, among others. They discuss The Pump’s status at its original release and where it stands now with collectors young and old today. See if you can spot any details that clue us in on the collaborations we can expect to see soon.
This year, Nike retroed the Air Pegasus ‘89 seeing that it is the 20th year anniversary for this sneaker. Therefore, we have seen a plethora of Pegasus ‘89 colorways throughout the year. Nike Sportswear is now set to release a special edition Air Pegasus ‘89 dubbed the “Berlin”.
First off, this is just a sneak peek at the shoe; it has been stated that this is not the official version as well. The colorway is supposedly inspired by Berlin’s urban playground style. It seems to possess a predominately black, multi-textured base complimented with purple contrast stitching and a white midsole. The swoosh also owns a unique, electrifying attribute as well. What are your thoughts on the preliminary photo of the Air Pegasus ‘89 “Berlin”?
