Reebok Dual Pump Runner “Yucatin”

Posted: 30 Oct 2009 12:58 PM PDT

Reebok Dual Pump Runner

At the end of May, we showed you the fresh collaboration between Proper and Reebok on the three-set of the Dual Pump Runner. Five months later, we finally see a new Dual Pump Runner in the form of this “Yucatin” special edition.

If you recall, Reebok released a Reverse Jam Collection also dubbed the “Yucatin”. With that said, this Dual Pump Runner features a similar colorway to one of the Reverse Jams in the aforementioned pack. It possesses a brown and metallic copper leather/mesh upper with university blue accents in the form of the sole, Reebok logo (heel panel) and the Pump (side panel). You can purchase this Dual Pump Runner “Yucatin” now at TheGoodWillOut.

Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals “J Wings” Metallic Silver

Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals "J Wings" Metallic Silver

Designer Jeremy Scott’s work with adidas has received mixed reviews, from ‘heads and celebs alike. We first saw the J Wings sneaker almost a year ago in an all white colorway, and up now is this pair in metallic silver and black.

On any other shoe, the first thing that anyone would notice would be the metallic silver leather upper, but because the namesake wings along the side, we can immediately see that these aren’t your average adidas. The old school thick midsole and outsole are done in black, contrasting the stitching throughout. Scott’s signature also appears near the heel and the debray near the toes features a grill with “Jeremy” on the “teeth.”

Can you see yourself grabbing a pair of these, or are the wings, even if they are removable, just too much?

PF Flyers Sporting Life 2010 Preview

Posted: 30 Oct 2009 12:13 PM PDT

pf_opener1

Last night in New York City’s fashion district, PF Flyers held court with their Sporting Life 2010 collection preview. Many people remember PF Flyers from Benny the Jet Rodriguez’s famous fence jump from the ‘93 classic The Sandlot. PF Flyer’s has actually been in the game for over 70 years repping Posture and Function, hence the acronym PF. PF has also outfitted long time Celtics Great Bob Cousy with signature on court kicks throughout his illustrious career. They’ve even worked up a special Kelly Green Celtics colorway for Spring 2010.

The Sporting Life collection features kicks for both on and off the hardwood. From the reissue of the ‘43 classic, the Rambler Hi, to the newly designed sequin printed Glide. PF has produced an interesting take on materials from premium leather, to standard canvas, as they try to reclaim the position the brand once held in the ’40s and ’50s. Peruse the pictures of the collection after the jump, and decide for yourself whether you’ll be rocking some Posture and Function’s this spring.

Vans Vault Buffalo Boot LX

Posted: 30 Oct 2009 11:28 AM PDT

Vans Vault Buffalo Boot LX

For Spring of 2010, the Vans Vault will unveil a new pseudo-boot silhouette in the “Buffalo Boot LX,” which mixes up the looks of some of your favorite Vans shoes with an outdoor appeal. Debuting in both a black/black and Coffee/brown color-up, these channel the outdoor appeal of a hiking boot without losing that classic Vans look.

The white vulcanized sole may not be as tough as the one found on the Switchback, which we just took a look at a few weeks ago. The uppers utilize premium materials, mixing suede around theit toes and lower portions, while leather is worked in near the ankles. Rather than opt for a label like the Half Cabs we often see, Vans branding appears as a stamp on the outer side. On the top side, striped fuschia boot-style laces loop through gold metal eyelets. Expect these in March, 2010.

Interview: Keith Hufnagel on HUF

The man behind one of San Francisco’s favorite shops sat down with ESPN recently to discuss his status as a sneaker, skate and style front runner. Keith Hufnagel talks about how he ended up in the Bay, how he got started and his thoughts on the building of the HUF brand.

Hufnagel discusses the HUF team’s collaborations with Vans, Nike and Cons (RED), explaining of the latter: “…The money from the sales that Converse produces goes to give money to the Global Fund to buy anti-retroviral drugs for Africans living with AIDS.” Without giving too much away, Keith also gives us some insight on HUF products and what else to expect in the future.
