adidas Originals Samba - White/Black

adidas Originals Samba - White/Black

adidas Originals lends the Samba a tuxedo look with this latest make-up. The shoe employs white leather and black suede for a classic contrast. With the crested outlines, the black suede overlays borrow a subtle ornament tactic from more formal brogue-style footwear.

The modest exterior conceals a more strong-willed grey and blue plaid lining. You can cop these at Flauge. Also, flip the post for more pictures.

Cadence x DVS Milan CTC

We saw this special DVS model awhile back with a sneak preview, but we’re finally getting a look at the Cadence Milan CTC collaboration.

Cadence is a cycling gear company targeted to fixed gear riders, and in pairing up with skate shoe company DVS have created a bike riding specific shoes. Not only do we see two additional colorways form the original yellow suede and leather pair we previewed, but we get a complete look at the tongue and laces system. It was designed to protect a rider from tangling their laces in wheels or gear, so it serves a functional purpose beyond just looks. Grey and black are also available.

“Become Mars” Microsite and iPhone App

Posted: 09 Jan 2010 08:13 PM PST

Become Mars Blackmon iPhone AppPlain and simple, the series of Mars Blackmon and Michael Jordan ads forever changed the business of marketing in sneakers. Now, more than 22 years since Nike, Wieden + Kennedy, MJ, and Spike Lee teamed up, the legendary impact of Mars continues.

Starting in 2006, Jordan Brand began a campaign paying tribute and thanks to Spike Lee and Mars Blackmon. What first started with the “Mars” Air Jordan 4’s were soon followed by a future staple to the Jordan Brand catalogs - the Jordan Spiz’ike. This shoe was a mashup of all the models that Spike Lee worked alongside Michael Jordan to promote including the Air Jordan 3, 4, 5, 6, and 20. (There is still some dispute whether the Jordan 9s are represented with the heel loop, but JB officially leaves this model off the list).

Now, you yourself can get Marsified with the new “Become Mars” microsite and iPhone app. You can get started making yourself look like Mars Blackmon now at Jumpman23 or head to the App Store and cop it by clicking here. While you’re there grab the Nice Kicks app if you haven’t already.

Air Jordan 11 “Silver Anniversary”

Posted: 09 Jan 2010 01:58 PM PST

Signs may point to 2010 starting as “The Year of the 6,” but the favorite silhouette of many sneakerheads, the 11, isn’t waiting long to reappear after the “Space Jam” release. This next Air Jordan 11, dubbed the “Silver Anniversary,” celebrates the 25th anniversary of Jordan Brand.

Currently available in a limited run at Marquee Sole, white patent leather circles the bottom of the uppers. White is used for every surface in fact, with the exception of the silver labels on the tongue and heel, and or course the outsoles are done in icy clear. The standard carbon fiber plate is also used for arch support.
