Nike Air Max 1 “Try-On”

Nike Air Max 1 "Try-On"

Fresh in at 21 Mercer is this Nike Air Max 1 “Try-On,” the latest in the series. The “Try-On” name is representative of the being the shoe that you can put on at the Nike iD studio before you design your own custom 1 of 1s.

The entire shoe is done in grey, from the mesh on the toes to the nubuck panels throughout, and even the shimmer sheen near the collar. The only exceptions come on the heel, near the top eyelet and on the forefoot accent strip, which have all been given a black splatter treatment. The Swoosh appears grey, but is actually 3M reflective. Sometimes simple is best, even with iD products. How do you feel about these AM1s?

Remembering Alexander McQueen

Remembering Alexander McQueen

Yesterday, tragic news surfaced about the unfortunate death of British fashion designer Alexander McQueen. He was undoubtedly known for his unique, dramatic, one-of-a-kind designs that were worn by the likes of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Sandra Bullock and many others.

He also contributed his unmatched design efforts to the sneaker industry as he worked closely with Puma to create some rather interesting collections. His four British Designer of the Year awards only represent a small portion of what he has actually done for the fashion world. With that said, check out some of his recent Puma-assisted collections and some of your favorite women celebrities wearing Alexander McQueen-manufactured dresses.

Nike SB P-Rod 2.5 Grey/Blue-Sport Red

Paul Rodriguez Jr. is now on his third sneaker with Nike SB, with a fourth only a few months away. Taking a step back though, the P-Rod 2.5 is an updated version of the Zoom P-Rod II, though it features an old school vulcanized sole with the original upper. This newest colorway has hit select retailers, including Premier, and is available now.

Keeping things nice and simple, grey suede dresses the entire upper. Blue suede is used for the Swoosh and liner. Sport Red accents have also been added in on the tongue tag, heel and at the base of the laces. White laces are included to match the sole, while a grey set are also included to match the uppers.

Nike KD II "All-Star" Available Online

Kevin Durant has had a banner season in 2009-2010. He’s pretty much confirmed that bench press strength is meaningless, and in doing so earned his first All-Star Game selection. Nike has rewarded him with two signature shoes now, with this most recent KD II also receiving a special color-up for this weekend. Now, you can grab that special shoe at retail price online.

Daring red is the chosen color for Western Conference shoes, as it appears on this shoe, the Zoom Kobe V and the Hyperize. Along the side, the trim piece features woodgrain 3M, which was chosen to represent the ranches of Texas. A black patent leather strap and medial panel finish the upper, which sit on an entirely clear sole. Head over to Daily Drop to grab your pair now.

HUF Footwear

HUF Footwear

The powers that be at HUF announced not too long ago that they would be expanding beyond clothing and sneaker collaboration and making a foray into a single-branded footwear line of their own. We saw a sneak preview of a pile of shoes, and even got a video of Keith Hufnagel explaining their brand expansion, but this is the first time we’ve gotten a good look at the lineup.

From the looks of it, HUF will offer a handful of styles in both high and low cuts. Vulcanized soles look to be used plentifully, as do both suede and canvas on the uppers. The lone shoe we see with a close-up is built of canvas, with a large H logo appearing along the side. The line isn’t set to drop until Fall, but will you be after a pair later this year?
