| Marvel & Airwalk to Launch Unique Brand Collaboration Posted: 05 Mar 2010 11:58 AM PST  We have spotted a slew of cartoon-inspired sneakers over the years (see our Sneaker Geeks: 12 of the Best Cartoon Inspired Sneakers). With that said, there will be plenty more as Airwalk and Marvel have joined efforts to form a unique brand collaboration. This collaboration will simply fuse Marvel’s seven decades of lovable superhero/villain characters with one of the storied youth culture brands in the world. Specifically, Airwalk’s apparel, accessories and other merchandise will feature various Marvel comic graphic designs that pertain to both board sports and comic book art. "Airwalk is a mainstay in the board and action sports world. This collaboration will help expand Marvel's presence in high end retail stores and overall in the lifestyle category, and the collection will undoubtedly appeal to the influential and trend-setting youth consumer," said Paul Gitter, President of Consumer Products for North America, Marvel Entertainment. | Asics Gel Lyte III White/Lavander & White/Pool Posted: 05 Mar 2010 11:13 AM PST  Two new colorways of the Asics Gel Lyte III have landed at retailers, just in time for Easter. Though both pairs are designed for the ladies, these may be the perfect look for all fans of pastel. Both pairs utilize white as their base color, which appears on the midfoot, toe box and majority of the midsole. The first pair utilizes mint on the toe and heel, while lavander accents appear throughout. The second pair uses Pool, a pink-red hue, on the toe and heel. Orange appears on the midsole on that one, while both pairs use splatters throughout the Asics arches. | Futura x Nike Air Force 1 Supreme White/Light Zen Grey Posted: 05 Mar 2010 10:28 AM PST  Following the Futura x Nike Air Force 1 “NY Yankees” that we showed you yesterday, photos of yet another collaborative effort between the two have surfaced on the web. Are the Futura x Nike projects some of the better Air Force 1s seen in awhile? This particular Air Force 1 Hi possesses a mainly white colored base comprised of premium leather and perforated leather. Its most noticeable features appear in the form of the metallic silver swoosh and the zen grey swoosh. Other features include a black tongue logo that features the Pointman character, and the Futura script seen on the translucent sole. Available now at atmos. | Nike Aina Chukka Stone/White Posted: 05 Mar 2010 09:43 AM PST  We’ve seen a shift in sneakers from athletic-inspired to lifestyle-centric in the last few months. To keep that going, the next step from the team in Beaverton is this Nike Aina Chukka, which is set to release soon. Along the quarter panels, woven suede in Stone is utilized, similar to previous special makeups we’ve seen, like the Lunar Woven Chukka. The midfoot, heel, toe and area along the sole are all constructed with a solid color of suede. The toe box is perforated, further adding to the breathability these are sure to possess. | Kicks On Court: Black Mamba’s New Nike Zoom Kobe V Posted: 05 Mar 2010 08:58 AM PST  We are now starting to see a vast amount of Nike Zoom Kobe V iD colorways throughout the league. Players such as JR Smith, Channing Frye and Shannon Brown have been seen in some rather interesting colorways. Last night, our Kicks On Court spotted Bryant himself rocking a new Kobe V colorway. In a loss against the Miami Heat, Kobe Bryant went toe to toe with Dwyane Wade while wearing a never-before-seen, black/white-yellow colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe V. The colorway is similar to that seen on the Nike Zoom Kobe IV “Del Sol”. On the contrary, Miami Heat guards Dwyane Wade and Quentin Richardson both laced up some fresh sneakers as well, Wade sported his Air Jordan 2010 PE that he debuted earlier this week and QRich hooped in the “Silver Anniversary” Air Jordan 9s. | Nike SB Dunk Fat Tongue to Return Posted: 05 Mar 2010 08:13 AM PST  Nike SB Dunk releases has been criticized in the last few seasons because of the disappearance of the fat tongue. If you’ve lost favor in the line because of the tongue switch, Kevin Imamura from Nike SB broke the news that the fat tongue will return. Imamura was not specific as to which shoe will serve as the first to re-debut the feature, or even during which season it will occur.
