Number (N)ine for Converse

Number (N)ine for Converse

Takahiro Miyashita’s Number (N)ine label took creative license with two different Converse models and came up with this collection, which is set to release on March 13th. Modifying both a One Star and Chuck Taylor All Star, Number (N)ine’s efforts resulted in some very unique creations.

The yellow shoe started life as a One Star ‘74 and has been dressed in yellow and sits on a white sole. The other shoe displays a light grey color and the same sole. Both use asymmetrical lacing systems, which Takahiro borrowed from the Converse Odessa trainer, which he admired as a child. The full list of retailers selling this shoe can be seen here.

Air Jordan 13 Retro 2010 Holiday Releases

Following the surprising news of the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared” Pack, we have now heard a rumor that Jordan Brand will also release a two-set of the Air Jordan 13 Retro this upcoming holiday season. Although the aforementioned Air Jordan 6s are said to release in a pack, these two Air Jordan Retro 13s will be sold separately.

Specifically, Jordan Brand will supposedly unleash the Air Jordan 13 Retro “Flint Grey” and the Air Jordan 13 Retro White/Black-True Red later this year. If you recall, the Air Jordan 13 Retro White/Black-True Red hasn’t been seen since it first released in 1998; however, the “Flint Grey” Air Jordan 13s last released in 2005. What are your thoughts on the release of these two classic Jordans? Stay tuned for additional information on this release; meanwhile, click here to share your thoughts.

Nike iD Hyperdunk Texas PE

Nike Hyperdunk Texas PE

Tonight, in the second round of the Big XII Tournament, Texas will debut a new Nike iD Hyperdunk. Since the beginning of the 2008-2009 season, the Longhorns have worn some serious PEs, including the Maui Invitational Hyperdunks and Black/Burnt Orange Hyperizes.

A gradient fade from Burnt Orange to white appears along the Flywire sides, while the midsole uses the latter color alone. The midfoot and toe areas sport the design paying tribute to the University of Texas that’s also found on the team’s new uniforms. A Longhorn logo can be found on the tongue tab.

Rumor: Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared” Pack

Posted: 11 Mar 2010 10:28 AM PST

Air Jordan 6 Retro

Since the beginning of 2010, we have been hearing about the re-release of the “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 11s from many sources. However, we have just received word about another possible Jordan release later this year. This upcoming summer, Jordan Brand supposedly will release the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Infrared” Pack.

Specifically, Jordan Brand is rumored to release both the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Infrared and the Air Jordan 6 Retro White/Infrared as a pack. The black/infrared colorway comes as a surprise considering Jordan Brand just released the Air Jordan 6 Retro Black/Red a couple of months ago. Yet, who else is wishing these classics return? We last saw the black/infrared and the white/infrared in 2000 and 1990, respectively. Are these some of, if not the best Air Jordan 6 colorways to date? Click here to share your thoughts on this upcoming pack.

Update: Some outlets are willing to confirm the rumor, but we are not willing to do so until official information has been given. Once we receive that credible information, we will then confirm it.

Slick x adidas Originals Artillery Mid

Slick x adidas Originals Artilley Mid

We first previewed graffiti artist Slick’s work with adidas Originals in a video a while back. The spray can specialist worked on two Artillery Mids, one of which has landed at select retailers, including Schuh-You.

The shoe is covered in Slick’s artwork in black “paint” over white leather. White mesh works in elsewhere, as do red accent pieces, including the plastic midfoot lace loops. On the tongue, Slick’s image and name tag can be seen, further labeling these as a unique collaboration.

Kicks On Court: Finley Joins the ‘Green’ While Wearing the…

Posted: 11 Mar 2010 08:58 AM PST

Kicks On Court

A couple of weeks ago, minuscule point guard Nate Robinson joined his new team, the Boston Celtics, while wearing the classic Nike Air Max2 CB34. Recently, the Celtics added another savvy vet in the form of Michael Finley. Check out today’s Kicks On Court to see what Finley, one of the oldest Jordan Brand members in the NBA, laced up in his first game with the Celtics.

In a surprising, blowout loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Michael Finley made his first appearance in a Boston Celtics jersey while wearing a white/black colorway of the Air Jordan 12 PE. It seems as if Jordan Brand didn’t have enough time to lace Finley up with some white/green sneakers; therefore, he played in the Air Jordan 12 PEs that he wore in San Antonio. The predominance of the base is done up in white, while the sole, tongue border and inner lining are colored in black. What are your thoughts on Finley’s Jordan 12 PEs? Do these PEs hold a torch to the “Taxi” Air Jordan 12s? Click here to view these kicks plus more worn by Ray Allen, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and others.

Nike Air Max Hyperize NFW

Posted: 11 Mar 2010 08:13 AM PST

Nike Air Max Hyperize NFW

Just days ago we took an in-depth look at a release-ready Nike Air Max Hyperize. The Silver Metallic/Volt colorway was a favorite of readers from the first time we saw a sneak peek of it. Now we’re seeing an NFW (No Flywire) version for 2010 in a Varsity Red and white treatment.

The first thing you’ll notice is different about this shoe is the lack of Flywire along the sides–a trick Nike has used previously with other normally Flywire-infused models. Red suede covers the upper, with the exception of the white Swoosh. Matching said branding is the midsole, which was given a splatter treatment. No date has been given for the release of the Air Max Hyperize in any configuration, but expect them to drop sometime in the next few months.
