Nike SB Dunk Low Premium “Larry Perkins”

Posted: 16 Mar 2010 12:58 PM PDT

Nike SB Dunk Low Premium "Larry Perkins"

Once dubbed the “Chirping Bird,” this Nike SB Dunk has been seen a number of times on Nice Kicks, but a new story is now attached. Larry Perkins is a fictitious character from around five years ago, who was the “most underrated skater ever” and made prank calls on behalf of Big Brother Magazine. Reportedly, the chirping noise has been replaced with a ringing telephone sound as an ode to those calls.

Black denim covers the entire upper, while a matching Swoosh in patent can be found along the sides. A white outsole is paired with a red outsole, matching the color work of the tongue tag. These are a quickstrike release and should be available soon at your local SB spot, including a drop tomorrow at Premier.

UPDATE: The official release date has been pushed back to Saturday, March 20th.

Supra Bandit Tan

Supra Bandit Tan

When Supra gave us the boot-inspired Skytop “Timbo,” readers mmediately took to them, remarking that they bridged the gap from Timberland boots to sneaker cultures. With these tan Bandits, they’ll look to do the same on the new Tom Penny signature model.

As the above would suggest, tan is used on every surface of the uppers. Suede is the material of choice, and waxed laces are in place to further monochromatic aesthetic. The sole is very similar to the upper, as it uses gum-colored rubber. You can grab your pair now directly from Factory 413.

Nike Dynasty

Recently, Nike unleashed two nice, subtle colorways of the Dynasty model including the Navy Blue/White and the Team Red. While those particular colorways are very simple yet elegant, what are your thoughts on these new head-turning Dynasty colorways?

Both of these Nike Dynasty models feature an array of colors on the upper combined with a white midsole and a black outsole. One pair, shown to the right, features a primarily yellow colored upper with minimal blue accents on the heel panel, ankle strap and the shoelaces. The white/black toe area coincides perfectly with the aforementioned sole as well. The remaining pair features a similar colorway as the one shown to the right, yet, the side panels and half of the heel panel is done up in pink. Both multi-colored Dynasty Highs are now available at LTD. Click here to view detailed photos

Rukus Board Shop x Element Winslow

Rukus Board Shop x Element Winslow

Rukus Board Shop paired up with Element recently to design this Winslow, which draws inspiration from Baton Rouge’s most famed skate spot, and other elements from around the Louisiana city.

Baton Rouge translates to “red stick,” so it was deemed fitting to utilize a red upper, beyond the obvious inspiration taken from the red bricks of the aforementioned spot, the Centroplex. On the underside of the clear outsole, a brick pattern can also be seen. Grey was chosen for the midsole to represent the cement ledges of said spot. Finally, red alligator print appears along both sides of the upper, complementing the suede at the heel and toe, as a further ode to the swamp lands of Louisiana.

Nike SB Dunk High “Bruce Springsteen”

Posted: 16 Mar 2010 08:28 AM PDT

Nike SB Dunk High "Bruce Springsteen"

With apologies to Jon Bon Jovi, The Boss is New Jersey’s most famous son, and an American rock legend. This Summer, Bruce Springsteen will be paid tribute with this special Nike SB Dunk High.

Taking cues from Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” album cover, denim is used for the toe, midfoot and foxing, while navy blue fills in the mid-panel behind a red Swoosh. On the collar, red and white stripes appear as an ode to the American flag that hangs in front of Bruce on the cover. These will reportedly release at New Jersey Skateshop first as a QS sometime later this year.
