Is the Stained Sole a Clean Look?

Is the Stained Sole a Clean Look?

There is no greater feeling than unboxing a brand new pair of kicks for a sneaker head. Much like most things purchased, we love sneakers the most when we first get them because we know after multiple wears our sneakers will never look as clean and fresh as they did when we first laced them up. However, what if the shoes already come with a stained, dirty, vintage look? Do we treat them the same? Are they still considered clean?

Today marked the official release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro KO Hi, a vintage sneaker many people have been impatiently awaiting. Obviously, its most talked-about attribute is the discoloration on the sole which gives the shoe an archaic, traditional look from the past. Although some people welcome this old-fashioned look, others have stated that they wouldn’t dare touch a sneaker that already comes with a dirty-look. Click here to read our synopsis on the vintage look and share your thoughts on it as well.

Air Jordan 2010 Black/Dark Charcoal-Varsity Red

Posted: 27 Mar 2010 10:45 AM PDT

Air Jordan 2010

It was only a couple of weeks ago when photos of this Air Jordan 2010 Black/Dark Charcoal-Varsity Red surfaced on the web. The Air Jordan 2010 model is growing on some of you with each passing colorway, while others continue to show discontent with this shoe. As for this colorway, Jordan Brand will release it in June for $170.

This particular Air Jordan 2010 owns a multi-textured base smothered in a very simple yet stylish color scheme. Black suede covers the toe box and heel area, while dark charcoal-colored patent leather sections appear on the sides of the toe area and quarter panel. Other elements include dark charcoal perforated side panels, a black-bordered window, a dark charcoal midsole, varsity red tongue branding and an icy outsole. As stated earlier, look for this Air Jordan 2010 to surface in June.

Nike Air Max Hyperize

To coincide with the ongoing March Madness NCAA Tournament, Nike unleashed an Air Max Hyperize “Final Four” Pack. So, what team does this particular colorway represent?

We would say Syracuse, but we will not get to see them anymore thanks to Butler’s great play. This Nike Air Max Hyperize features a black patent leather finish similar to three of the Air Max Hyperize incorporated in the “Final Four” Pack. Orange appears throughout the base, namely on the flywire section. It also contains an orange, full-length sole that is sure to bring more comfort to the foot. No word on when this shoe will release stateside, however, click here to view more photos

Nike Hyperdunk & Zoom Kobe V “Aston Martin” Pack

Posted: 26 Mar 2010 07:13 PM PDT

Nike Basketball Aston Martin PackAt the beginning of this month, we supplied you with detailed photos and additional information regarding the Nike Hyperdunk & Zoom Kobe V “Aston Martin” Pack. At the time, no release date information had surfaced. However, we have now learned that this pack is available now at overseas retailers such as KICKZ.

This particular pack is undoubtedly inspired by the Kobe Bryant commercial in which he shows Ronnie Turiaf and the rest of us how to jump over an Aston Martin DB9. Both sneakers feature the exact color scheme that the car possessed in the commercial. Graphite grey makes up most of both sneakers, while minimal red and tan hints can be seen throughout the tongue, inner lining and various branding. The packaging is even more impressive. Nike decided to place a silhouette of Kobe getting ready to leap over the vehicle on the package with the phrase "That's How You Do It" repeating all over (if you recall, Kove repeatedly said these words after jumping over the car). As stated earlier, you can purchase the pack now at KICKZ. Click here to view photos and check out the video of Kobe jumping the Aston Martin one more time.

Jordan Accolades Preview

Some of you really took a liking towards new Jordan silhouettes such as the Icons and the Alpha 1; however, the Jordan Accolades seems to be amongst the most hated right now. Therefore, a lot of you did not get your wish of these never hitting retailers. Jordan Brand will unleash three Accolades over a two-month period.

First off, Jordan Brand will release the Accolades Premier (shown to the right) and another Accolades draped in white/black-cement grey during the month of April. The Accolades Premier features a slew of laser-etched Accolades that MJ accomplished over his career. As for the previously-mentioned white/black-cement grey colorway, its distinctive attributes include elephant print seen on the heel panel and along the midfoot section. Last but not least, a black/varsity red-white pair, done up in suede, will surface in June. What are your final thoughts on the Jordan Accolades? Click here to view the lineup in its entirety.
