Jayson Mayden Unveils Rare Air Jordan Hybrid Sample

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 12:13 PM PDT

Air Jordan

The comment section went ablaze, with both positive and negative comments, when we showed you a photo of the Air Jordan 1 Retro “Foamposite” sample yesterday. However, there was a few more samples and much more exclusive information revealed at A Night With Jordan Brand.

Jordan Brand Designer Jason Mayden unveiled a rare Air Jordan hybrid sample that is available in a auction (proceeds will go to a charity for the Haiti relief fund). This particular rare sample, which features an Air Jordan X upper fused with an Air Jordan XX sole, was created to test the cushioning system for Chris Paul’s latest signature sneaker, the Jordan CP3.III.  According to Mayden, only six of these were designed, yet this particular pair is only one left. What are your thoughts on this sample? Click here to view additional photos of this shoe and view of video of Mayden discussing the sneaker and other Jordan Brand happenings.

Bodega x Lacoste Esteban

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 11:28 AM PDT

Bodega x Lacoste Esteban

Drawing inspiration from traditional Native American artwork and materials, the team at Bodega went to work on a Lacoste Esteban and came out with the sneaker we see here.

Luxurious brown nubuck covers the entire upper, displaying a monochromatic and rustic aesthetic. Along the mid-panel, an embroidered Lacoste crocodile logo appears in a similar tan hue. The liner features a dreamcatcher-inspired print in tans and browns. The metal eyelets are a dark teal hue, furthering the Bodega Bay Native American design relationship. You can grab a pair from this limited run of 250 on April 3rd from hanon.

Vans Vault Authentic LX “Washington Nationals”

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 10:43 AM PDT

Vans Vault Authentic LX

We have seen three Chukka LXs and two Authentic LXs in the Vans Vault Opening Day Collection so far. However, the Vans Vault Authentic LX “Washington Nationals” evens out the count today as the latest installment from the previously-mentioned collection.

This Authentic LX coincides perfectly with the Nationals uniforms as it contains a mostly light grey base with navy blue and red hints throughout the upper. Specifically, navy blue is seen on the inner lining and shoelaces, while red Vans branding is seen on the side panels. Also, the Washington Nationals logo is imprinted on the heel in red as well. This shoe, which will be sold with a complimentary limited edition Majestic Authentic Jersey, will be available exclusively at Commonwealth on April 5th. However, only 12 pairs are available for retail. Click here to view additional photos.

Nike SB Dunk High Black/Purple-White

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 09:58 AM PDT

Nike SB Dunk High Black/Purple-White

The SB Dunk has been a staple of the sneaker game for some time, and though many purists believe it fell off in recent years, Nike looks poised to strengthen the silhouette’s presence again. Having seen releases including the controversial Todd Bratrud “Skunk” Dunk in recent weeks, will this May release sneaker work with or against SB’s efforts?

Using traditional color blocking methods, black nubuck can be found on the toe, midfoot, heel foxing and Swoosh. Matching those elements are the outsole and liner. Purple leather fills out the gaps left in the upper, while a white midsole and laces serve to brighten the dark build. Stay tuned for more information and detailed photos of this shoe as they become available.

CONS Pappalardo Cranberry

CONS Pappalardo Cranberry

Few companies build sneakers that sctretch across multiple styles the way Converse does. The CONS Pappalardo signature offers the perfect mix of style and skate, blending old school simplicity with ideal board feel.

This time around, the low top silhouette is coming to us in Cranberry red. White contrast stitching almost perfectly matches the chalk vulcanized sole and upper accent panels. Bronze eyelets and text along the midfoot and quarter panels further the detailing of the simple sneaker. Look for these to hit retailers around the first of April.

Video: MVPuppet LeBron Has to Drive to Sneaker Friends 2010

Posted: 30 Mar 2010 07:43 AM PDT

One of the worst things that can happen on every road trip is being deemed the driver. When MVPuppets Kobe and LeBron decided they were going to Sneaker Friends 2010 in Atlanta, they had to first decide who would drive all the way there.

As you can see in the above video, the two chose to wager driving duties on Kobe being able to recreate his famous car leap. Will Kobe make it over LBJ’s Bentley, or will King James run over his friend and cohort and have to drive to Atlanta alone? Watch the above video and then start making plans to be at the Compound in Atlanta on Saturday, May 1st.
