Posted: 10 Jun 2010 02:28 PM PDT

The Air Jordan 2010 Outdoor could prove to be even more divisive than the standard silhouette off which it’s based. In this video, Jordan Brand Creative Director Mark Smith lays out the company’s plan for this model and from where its inspirations came.

We good a look at the entire “For the Love of the Game” series and an explanation of why this concept was used for the World Basketball Festival, which Nike is hosting this Summer. Near the end of the video, we get a good look at the Air Jordan Alpha 1 Outdoor, Pregame XT and Air Jordan 9 in the “For the Love of the Game” colorway.

Converse Fall 2010 Collection

Posted: 10 Jun 2010 01:58 PM PDT

Earlier today, we showed two offerings from the Converse Basketball fall 2010 lineup in the form of the Free Agent and the Star Player EVO. We now take a look at the Converse Fall 2010 Collection in its entirety.

There is a lot to look forward to in this lineup to say the least. In detail, Converse continues to apply any and every material/texture to the Chuck Taylor model. A John Varvatos x Converse Chuck Taylor Specialty, featuring an American flag design, will release this particular collection. Another Chuck Taylor, dubbed the Woolrich, contains a multi-colored, plaid, wool texture makeup. Converse will also unleash multiple colorways of the Chuck Taylor Cup in both high-top and low-top. Besides the Chuck Taylor, Converse will also release models such as the Star Player Mid, the Star Player OX and the Classic Trainer, in some rather interesting designs. View the Converse Fall 2010 Collection in its entirety below.

Sneaker Art: Stained Glass Air Jordan 1

Sneaker Art: Stained Glass Air Jordan 1

After seeing the Air Jordan 1 Birthday Cake we featured the other day, reader Robert Tran was inspired to share his own sneaker art with the world.

Robert pieced together this Air Jordan 1 completely out of stained glass, meaning unlike the aforementioned cake, there is no expiration date on this piece. When it’s lit from behind, the glass structure reveals the classic White/Varsity Red-Black colorway we know and love. Would you put this art in your window and let passers-by know about your love for sneakers?

Converse Star Player EVO

Posted: 10 Jun 2010 12:58 PM PDT

In addition to the Converse Free Agent we showed you earlier, we now have photos of yet another new Converse basketball sneaker that is set to release some time this fall dubbed the Converse Star Player EVO.

If you recall, the original Converse Star Player released in the 1970s and was worn by some of the top basketball players during that time including Julius Erving. This EVO (further evolution) obviously incorporates up-to-date, performance attributes all while keeping the original silhouette intact. This sneaker, which sits atop a lightweight EVA midsole, is a basketball player’s dream when it comes to performance capabilities. It specifically possesses an extreme amount of breathability (as seen on the side panel construction), superior cushioning and impact protection. View detailed photos below.

Nike Air Max Hyperize White/Navy

Nike Air Max Hyperize White/Navy

A new colorway of the Nike Air Max Hyperize has been made available at Eastbay, adding yet another option to the Summer hoops sneaker selection.

White leather provides a clean canvas against which the navy Flywire quarter panel jumps. The mesh tongue and Max Air unit are also navy and the white midsole shows paint speckles as well. Touches of silver can be seen throughout. The Zoom-featuring Hyperfuse is stealing the limelight now, but with so many cushioning options, you’re bound to find one you like.

Video: Nike SB “Icon x Icon” Brian Anderson & Eric Koston

Posted: 10 Jun 2010 11:28 AM PDT

For the Nike SB “Icon x Icon” program, which sees releases this weekend with Brian Anderson- and Eric Koston-designed shoes, pairs iconic skaters with iconic Nike models, allowing them to tweak the shoes to their liking.

Koston created a Blue Dunk Low Pro and the “Thai Temple” Dunk High, while Anderson modified the ankle of the Blazer and created Giants-inspired and “Captain’s Hat” colorways. The result was four clean shoes that, as we learn in the video, have more details and more thought behind them than we previously knew. The pros explain their decisions and the reasons they modified proven models in this video. Does it make you even more likely to grab any or all of the 4 total pairs this weekend?
