EA Sports x Nike Trainer 1.2 “NCAA Football 11″ Detailed Photos Posted: 10 Jul 2010 12:58 PM PDT Yesterday, we showed you preliminary photos of EA Sports and Nike’s collaboration on the Trainer 1.2 “NCAA Football 11″. The sneaker also pays tribute to Tim Tebow and his Florida Gators. We now have detailed photos of this upcoming release. The EA Sports x Nike Trainer 1.2 “NCAA Football 11″ features a number of specific elements that are closely associated with Tebow and the Gators as a whole. Obviously, the color scheme is in representation of the college football powerhouse as a primarily blue-colored upper is offset by various orange and green hints ; however, strategic details such as the gator skin print on the toe area and below the d-ring strap gives this shoe that much more of a theme. In addition, Tim Tebow’s pledge to the media/fans, after the loss to Ole Miss is scripted out on the insole (it is also posted on a plaque outside of the Gators football complex). This collaborative effort is tentatively set to release in October and will be available at select retailers in limited quantity. Nike has recently released a ‘home’ version of the Nike Zoom Kobe Dream Season 2. This pair features a predominantly white upper with purple and gold used as accents on the flywire, midsole, heel, and tongue. Black is used sparingly on the heel, Swoosh, and inner liner. Details include ‘KB’ branding on the top of the toebox, white laces, and kobe signature on the back. This colorway is already available at select online retailers. Nike Honors Athletes of the Past & Present with Trainer 1.2 Posted: 09 Jul 2010 04:51 PM PDT Today, Nike unveiled a slew of special, exclusive Nike Trainer 1.2 colorways at the ongoing Nike 7ON Tournament in Portland, Oregon. Many of you have expressed interest in recent Nike Trainer 1.2 colorways that have surfaced such as the “Ken Griffey Jr.” and the “NCAA Football 11″. Additionally, these new Trainer 1.2 colorways are nonetheless amazing. The pair shown above is a player exclusive for Tennessee Titans superstar running back Chris Johnson. Oddly, its color scheme does not correlate with the Titans jersey colors; however, the simple red/white color scheme looks very nice on the Trainer 1.2. Another pair, shown below, commemorates former major league third baseman and Philadelphia Phillies member Mike Schmidt. His Trainer 1.2 dons the color scheme that the Phillies sported in the 1980s. It also features a unique number logo that honors one of his many record-breaking statistics. Thirdly, a navy blue/white-red pair honors Nolan Ryan, one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. The heel panel possesses a Nolan Ryan Express logo with the date 5.1.91 and the word ‘Seven’. This highlights the fact that Ryan pitched his seventh no-hitter on the specific date. Lastly, the already-released “Ken Griffey Jr.” pair honors the icon’s 600 or more career home runs, while a black/silver pair obviously pays tribute to dual-athlete Bo Jackson. Besides the Chris Johnson colorway, each one of these Nike Trainer 1.2s will release in the coming months. Posted: 09 Jul 2010 02:28 PM PDT In this edition of SN’EADS by Ree, we get a look at the goings-on at Kobe’s home in L.A., and at the new Heat roster’s thoughts on the upcoming season. Last night’s “Decision” by LeBron will have long-lasting effects on the NBA as we know it, but for the Black Mamba, life is good and his rings are keeping him warm. © Alex Kroviak for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 28 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 09 Jul 2010 01:58 PM PDT As many times as we’ve seen black and white Blazers, they still appeal to the minimalists, who want a sneaker with a simple aesthetic and classic good looks. This pair is set to release widely later this month and makes use of a black upper of multiple materials. The white Swoosh along the sides matches up with the midsole and forefoot panel contrast stitching. A Sport Red tongue tag adds a bit of flair to these rather simple Nikes. CONS Pappalardo Yellow & Black Posted: 09 Jul 2010 01:58 PM PDT The CONS Pappalardo was spotted a few days ago in a very simple black on black colorway. Another version will release next Spring with similar color blocking but an all leather build, as will a far brighter pair. The latter shoe makes use of golden yellow suede, as well as black details, including metal eyelets. Both shoes may be many months away, but does either have you excited for next year?
