Jordan Prime 5 Orion Blue/Metallic Silver Posted: 17 Jul 2010 11:58 AM PDT We have seen a slew of new Jordan Brand silhouette samples this year such as the Carmichael, the Ol School IV and the Take Flight. We have now spotted yet another new model dubbed the Jordan Prime 5. This particular model is simply a hybrid of the Air Jordan Alpha 1 and the Air Jordan V. The latter model’s characteristics are evident by the net-like design on the side panels, the 3M tongue and the structure of the heel and toe. As for the Air Jordan Alpha 1 inspiration, the overall sleek, slim design is reminiscent of this shoe. The Jordan Prime 5 is seen here in an Orion Blue/Metallic Silver color scheme and contains a translucent sole. What are your preliminary thoughts on this new model? A size 9 Jordan Prime 5 sample is now available in an auction on eBay. Jordan Prime 5 © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 15 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 17 Jul 2010 11:13 AM PDT We can only imagine how Dwyane Wade feels as being the one who lured LeBron James and Chris Bosh to join him in South Beach for many years to come. However, if there is one person/company that can relate to luring a very big name to join them, it’s Jordan Brand. A year ago today (July 17th, 2009), Dwyane Wade announced his official signing with Jordan Brand, a move that garnered an abundance of attention during the summer. Having been with Converse until that point, Dwyane Wade graced the court in some very nice signature sneakers and player exclusives for his first six years in the league; yet, it seems as if many more eyes were focused on Wade’s feet this year, his first with Jordan Brand. A series of Air Jordan 12 PEs, Air Jordan Alpha 1s and being the lead endorser of the Air Jordan 2010 has undoubtedly made Dwyane Wade the current face of Jordan Brand. Were you happy with Dwyane Wade’s move to Jordan Brand at first? Now that he is arguably the face of the brand, do you think they should give him his own signature model? Lastly, how do you think Dwyane Wade’s legacy with Jordan Brand will pan out? Share your thoughts below in the comment section. We now have learned that the Nike Air Max 97 will also be releasing in metallic gold, one of its original colorways. This pair, which first hit retailers in 1997, features an all gold upper with hints of red on the tongue and side panel. A white midsole adds contrast to what would otherwise be a single-toned affair. With several original colorways of the Nike Air Max line releasing such as the Nike Air Max 90 Infrared and Nike Air Max 97 Metallic Silver, will this Nike Air Max 97 Metallic Gold make its way into your list of “must buy” sneakers in August? Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid+ “Legends Pack” Posted: 16 Jul 2010 03:43 PM PDT The Nike Trainer 1.2 Mid “Legends Pack” is a set of four shoes that not only pay tribute to four legends of the game of baseball, but also feature several eye-catching and well-coordinated colorways. Players that are commemorated include past legends (Nolan Ryan and Bo Jackson), recently retired (Ken Griffey Jr.), and currently active players (Albert Pujols). On the pair paying tribute to Nolan Ryan, obsidian, white and red are used throughout the shoe to pay tribute to the team he’s most associated with, The Texas Rangers. The date 5/1/91 is also printed on the shoe to mark the date he threw his legendary 7th no-hitter. Bo Jackson’s pair features a colorway that uses tones of the Kansas City Royals. The number ’448′ is also branded on the sneaker to mark the 448 foot home run Bo Hit in the 1989 MLB All-Star Game. The third pair pays tribute to recently retired and future hall-of-famer Ken Griffey Jr. The famous ’600′ logo is combined with the colors of the Seattle Mariners to pay tribute to the achievements Ken Griffey Jr. accomplished and the team he will always be associated with. The fifth and final pair features the red and white of the St. Louis Cardinal’s Albert Pujols. In addition, “The Machine” is printed on the shoe to commemorate the machine-like performances of Albert Pujols. As mentioned above, these 4 pairs are now available through eastbay. Posted: 16 Jul 2010 03:28 PM PDT Three colorways of the always classy Nike Tennis Classic ND have landed at select retailers, including Nike Store. All three rely on the same color blocking, which involved a solid colored leather upper with an accent color on the heel and liner. Gorge Green works as an accent against a Dark Grey upper, while Sport Red helps out on the white shoe and blue works against the Matte Silver upper of the third pair. Which is your favorite color combo? Nike Tennis Classic ND © Alex Kroviak for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us |
