Posted: 18 Aug 2010 12:28 PM PDT Combining four of the most popular Jordan’s on one shoe is sure to bring mixed emotions. The Jordan Rare Air fuses some of the most distinguishable aspects from the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5, and Air Jordan 6 for a funky, hybrid feel. The “Olympic” dubbing may throw some fans off as it dons the Olympic Rings inspired tones as seen on the “Beijing” Air Jordan 6 as opposed to the patriotic makeup seen on the recently released Air Jordan 7. Much like the ring inspired Air Jordan 6′s from 2008, this pair is composed of a white patent leather upper with red, yellow, blue, green, and black accents residing on the midsole. Elephant print pops up on the heel and toe with famed Jordan attributes scattered over the shoe. This pair of the Rare Air’s has hit retailers including Premier. Kicks On Court: NBA Rookie Media Day Posted: 18 Aug 2010 11:28 AM PDT Yesterday the 2010-11 NBA Rookie class got the chance to show their pearly whites or mean mug their way into the hearts of their new home teams at the annual Rookie Media Day. Aside from the standard cheesing, vertical leap and bicep stunting, a few draftees got a chance to showcase their kick game. Some players brought out their new P.E.s, some their retro Jordans, and some just kept it simple. Will your favorite rookie be kickin’ it business or casual on the court this season? Get a preview on this special edition of Kicks on Court. Thanks to NBA.com for the photos! © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 5 comments | Add to del.icio.us |

In Retrospect: Staple x New Balance 575 “White Pigeon” Posted: 18 Aug 2010 10:28 AM PDT A year ago today the Staple x New Balance 575 “White Pigeon” released. The limited Newbie saw distribution at only three stores in North America with 1,077 pairs total. Paying reference to the Dunk that Jeff Staple will be best remembered for, this freshly devised “White Pigeon” was a completely original color palette put on a well liked but less seen New Balance runner. Many feel this is one of the better collaborations the sneaker community has witnessed, what are your thoughts? Did you get a pair? Was the distribution fair? Will these go down as a classic? Tell us all your feelings on the release of the Staple x New Balance 575 White Pigeon in our comment section. © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 4 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
General Idea x PUMA Disc Blaze Posted: 18 Aug 2010 09:58 AM PDT Korean design gets some shine on the General Idea x Puma Disc Blaze. Bumsuk Choi of General Idea dresses the popular Disc Blaze in a mostly white upper composed of mesh and patent leather. Inspiration on the web and lockdown system comes from Choi’s favorite song lyrics which are scripted across the web. General Idea gets its branding on the midsole heel to certify this special collab. This special edition of the PUMA Disc Blaze will release in Korea only in the next month. Thoughts on this collaboration?
