Posted: 29 Aug 2010 11:58 AM PDT A few years ago adidas ditched their signature shoe models for their NBA roster in favor of P.E. branded Team Signature shoes. We’re happy to report that the three stripes is bringing back actual signature sneakers with the adidas AdiZero Rose. Derrick Rose will wear this new model for the upcoming NBA season as he and the Chicago Bulls look to make some noise in the reloaded Eastern Conference. Look for this Black/Red colorway to release sometime in October. adidas AdiZero Rose Source: Eastbay Blog © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 2 comments | Add to del.icio.us |

Posted: 28 Aug 2010 02:13 PM PDT Is Nike set to release one of its biggest sneakers ever? Earlier this week, we learned that Tinker Hatfield and his team filed patent papers for a shoe with an automatic lacing system, such as seen on the Nike Air Mag from Back to the Future II. Is there a “Marty McFly” Nike Air Mag release on the horizon? Check out our GREAT SCOTT! "Marty McFly" Nike Air Mag Release? for more information and photos. At the beginning of this week, NBA megastar Kobe Bryant turned 32. To coincide with his birthday, view our Happy Birthday, Kobe! The Black Mamba’s 32 Best Kicks. If you recall, Michael Jordan was fined $5,000 a game every time he stepped foot on the NBA courts while wearing the Air Jordan I when it first released. In an attempt to remind us of this feat, Jordan Brand is set to release a variation of this sneaker dubbed the “Banned” Air Jordan 1. Multiple branding on this shoe is covered up with an ‘X’. View detailed photos of two major, upcoming releases in the form of the “Pearl” Nike Air Foamposite Pro and the “Cool Grey” Air Jordan 11. Check out some of your favorite celebrities including Pharrell, Rick Ross, Chris Brown and Q-Tip in our Celebrity Sneaker Stalker. In addition to the possible “Marty McFly” Nike Air Mag release, take a look at our Back to the Sneakers: A History of McFly Kicks. Earlier this week, the Chicago Bulls organization stated that a Scottie Pippen statue will be placed inside the United Center in honor of MJ’s sidekick. Pippen wore a ton of fresh kicks during his 17-year career. What Shoes Should Scottie’s Statue Sport? © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2010. | Permalink | 7 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Posted: 28 Aug 2010 01:28 PM PDT This week brought us a ton of great kicks from all different brands. Not only did we get yet another look at The Air Jordan 11 “Cool Grey,” but we also got a great look at the Air Foamposite Pros from a trusted retailer (Only 6 days away!). See what the Nice Kicks staff thought about this week in sneaker news and then head to the comment section and tell us what you READER pick of the week is. George Kiel III I don’t think I’ve seen a bad Kobe V colorway yet. Usually, I’m not quick to take a liking to a predominately purple sneaker; however, this ‘Ink’ colorway seems to be a little different. The Kobe V is easily one of, if not the best basketball sneaker I’ve ever played in, and the continuous, fresh colorways persuade me to get every pair.
