Vans Authentic Hemp Grey & Brown

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 11:58 AM PDT

Vans Hemp Authentic

The Authentic is one of Vans’ most revamped models in their long list of popular sneakers. Each season, we see multiple colorways and patterns incorporated on the Vans Authentic’s canvas. Today, two pairs have surfaced that feature materials very seldom seen on sneakers. This two-sneaker lineup uses hemp as the primary material on the upper. Colors of brown and grey are used, which match the respective colors of black and charcoal on the midsoles. Matching laces and metallic lace eyelets finish these two pairs off in a subtle yet fitting fashion. Look for these two pairs to release soon at Vans retailers.

The upper of the LeBron 8 sports an aqua and black color with pink liner and lace holes.  Definitely a great Miami Vice feel to this shoe.  What are your initial thoughts of the Nike LeBron 8 “Pre-Heat”?

Nike Air Max 1 ‘Crepe’ Sail

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 11:28 AM PDT

Nike Air Max 1 'Crepe' Sail

As a part of Nike Sportswear’s Holiday 2010 lineup, two pairs of special Air Max 1s will land at retailers in very special fashion. Affixed to the bottom of this shoe is a crepe latex outsole. Sail leather and canvas come together on the upper, while a pony hair Swoosh throws a third texture in to the mix. This special sole first appeared on an Air Max 1 in 2004 that was a part of the “Hemp” Pack, but outside of the recent Nike iD options added for this shoe, we haven’t seen it since. Expect more information on slick pair of Nikes very soon.

adidas Originals by Originals Jeremy Scott JS Wings “Glow In The Dark”

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 11:13 AM PDT

With nearly every possible colorway of the adidas Originals Jeremy Scott JS Wings either released or previewed, it was only a matter of time before a glow-in-the-dark version surfaced. This color scheme and model have both increasingly become popular. In addition to the glow in the dark materials used on the stitching, eyelets, and other outlying features, this pair maintains a fairly monochromatic theme with an all white upper, sole, and inner liner. There is no word yet on release dates or locations. View detailed photos below.

Air Jordan Fusion 10 Black/Varsity Red-Dark Shadow

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 10:43 AM PDT

Air Jordan Fusion 10 "Dark Shadow"

The Air Jordan Fusion 10 “Steel Grey” is set to hit retailers this Saturday for $140. However, we have now learned that JB will release yet another colorway of this model in the form of the “Dark Shadow” Air Jordan Fusion 10 on December 11th, 2010 ($140).

This Fusion directly mimics the style/construction seen on the Air Jordan 10 “Dark Shadow” from the Air Jordan 10/13 Countdown Pack. Dark Shadow makes its way throughout the heel, side panels and toe area, while multiple black attributes (lacing panel, laces, inner lining) provide subtle color blocking. This Air Jordan Fusion 10 also makes use of minimal Varsity Red branding, a black midsole and a black/dark shadow outsole.

Nike LeBron 8 Breaks Naming Tradition

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 09:52 AM PDT

Nike "Air Max LeBron VIII" to be called "LeBron 8"

In an interesting move by Nike, the model names of the sneakers within LeBron James’ signature line will no longer include Roman numerals or cushioning system types. Official pictures of LeBron’s eighth shoe surfaced recently, along with photos of the box label which reads “LeBron 8.”

From October of 2009 to October of 2010, King James’ name will have appeared on, or been associated with, a total of six shoes internationally (Air Max LeBron VII, Air Max LeBron VII Low, LeBron VII P.S., Ambassador II, LeBron VII, Zoom Soldier IV). Each shoe has owned different performance characteristics which led to confusion about the models’ individual features.

If you recall, Nike actually added “Zoom” to the name of Kevin Durant’s third shoe, even though his first two contained the same cushioning and were simply the KD I and KD II, respectively. His shoes will stick to the Roman numeral system, while LeBron’s line will now use Arabic numerals.

This isn’t the first time in sneaker history that naming and numbering changes have taken place. Michael Jordan’s eighth signature sneaker, the Air Jordan 8, was the first shoe of the Air Jordan series to have the actual number featured on the box; coincidentally, it was also listed as an Arabic numeral. Prior and following Air Jordan models were officially labeled as “Air Jordan”, with no reference to the series number, until the Air Jordan XII (the first model under the newly formed Jordan Brand). Following signature models continued with Roman numerals and/or a mixture of Roman and Arabic numerals (i.e. Air Jordan XX3). Today, the release year of the Air Jordan signature sneakers now incorporate the release year in the title (i.e. Air Jordan 2010).
