| 16 Sneakers We’re Thankful for Returning in 2010 Posted: 25 Nov 2010 11:58 AM PST The holiday season is known for its notable retro sneaker releases, but the entire year has given us great bring-backs. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we took a look back at the last 11 months and ahead to the next one to chronicle the shoes we’re most thankful to have a chance to grab again. Some have returned somewhat recently and others haven’t seen a release since the first time they dropped, but either way, here are the 16 Sneakers We’re Thankful for Returning in 2010. Air Jordan 13 “Flint” The hologram. The panther paws. The 98 NBA Playoffs. All three of these things make the AJ13 a coveted sneaker, but the “Flint”–a non-Bulls colorway–is high on the list for many sneakerheads. Even with an inflated price tag in 2010, this shoe is sure to move quickly. The silhouette is a classic yet can be matched with any outfit. Today, Nike has brought back this timeless classic in a colorway that uses black and Gold Dart. The upper is a mostly composed of a black suede, with the only other color stemming from the gold side panel. A white outsole and tongue tab add a subtle third tone but stay relatively unnoticed. | Air Jordan 2010 “Silver Anniversary” Laser Sample Posted: 24 Nov 2010 03:28 PM PST The Air Jordan 2010 “Silver Anniversary” , which released earlier this month, caught the attention of many sneakerheads and basketball enthusiasts. The colorway was praised as one of the best on this model. Today, pictures of a sample Air Jordan 2010 that never released have surfaced. This pair sports a white upper with 3m laser print on nearly every angle. Silver accents on the sole and inner liner finish this pair off. Would this have been a pair you purchased or are you glad with Nike’s choice to go with the all silver pair? | Posted: 24 Nov 2010 03:13 PM PST Besides Manu Ginobili, Luis Scola is probably one of the most recognizable Argentinian basketball players. The 6 foot 9 inch forward has been one of the best players on the Houston Rockets, despite their recent struggles. Anta has rewarded Scola with his very own Argentinian PE. This pair features a color scheme that represents the Argentinian flag. White leather is used throughout the upper, and white patent leather is used on the toe box. A laser-etched, monochromatic design, inspired by Scola, is used on the entire back quarter of the heel. A tonal light blue tone is used sparingly on the outsole, inner liner and branding while a very fitting yellow tone is used on the laces. This pair will most likely never release but it is nice to see Anta creating new models with classic colors. The silhouette, which can be used both casually and on the court, has been spotted today in a classic color combination. A white leather upper is fortified with a double stitched seam. Contrast textile paneling is found on the sides, heel and patent wrap around Swoosh logo. Other details include a mesh lining, woven Nike branding on the tongue and team royal blue accents on the sole. Would this be a pair you purchase for this upcoming winter season? Skaters are now making their mark on the music, sports, and fashion. Today, a short film directed by renowned director Kahlil Joseph has been put out for all to see. This movie, though directed in a fairly artistic manner, pays tribute to the upcoming collaboration between Vans and Luke Meier. If the film is any indication of what the two plan on releasing, excitement should begin to build.
