In Retrospect: Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red Posted: 22 Jan 2011 11:43 AM PST By now, many of you have secured your “Cement Grey” Air Jordan 3; however, let us take you back in time to another highly-anticipated major release. Around this time last year (January 22, 2010 to be exact), Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red. This release garnered a lot of attention especially in the months prior; yet, when news surfaced in regards to a possible Air Jordan 6 “Infrared” Pack, sneaker enthusiasts quickly fixed their eyes on the summer release. Therefore, was this Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red release overlooked, let alone overrated? Did you purchase the Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red, and was it worth $150? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged them last January or did you purchase the “Infrared” Air Jordan 6s instead? How does this colorway rank amongst the other Air Jordan 6s that released last year ("Detroit Pistons", "Lakers", “White/Varsity Red”)? Lastly, was this one of your favorite Air Jordan Retro releases of 2010? Let us know your thoughts on the Air Jordan 6 Black/Varsity Red in the comment section below! © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 15 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Nike WMNS Air Force 1 Low “Amor” Posted: 21 Jan 2011 05:58 PM PST The new year has been quite generous for sneakerheads, jordan-heads, and even Air Force 1 fans. With the Nike Air Force 1 “Year of the Rabbit” set to release very soon, it is shocking to see Nike already planning their next big release; but don’t worry, this is a womens release only! As seen in photos below, this pair, set to release just before Valentines Day, makes use of a red and white color scheme. Solid red accents on the outsole, Swoosh, laces, and inner liner act as accent pieces to the fine stitched red details on the white upper base. Of the stitched designs, notable shapes include roses, hearts, and angels. Check out more photos below and let us know if this is a pair you’d cop for yourself or a special someone this February. Snoop Dogg x adidas Originals Fremont Posted: 21 Jan 2011 04:58 PM PST Earlier this week, we previewed the first ever collaboration between adidas and Snoop Dogg. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a rapper collaborate with a major sneaker brand. From the Nike Air Yeezy to the upcoming Reebok x Swizz Beatz collaboration, some of the most successful projects have been with big name rappers. Today additional photos have surfaced of the adidas Original x Snoop Dog collaboration. These photos show the simple yet personalized look adidas opted for on this particular pair. Black leather is highlighted with a Los Angeles Lakers-esque color scheme as gold and purple are used on the lace eyelets, heel cup, and ankle liner. The sneaker also makes use of droopy cartoon dog eyes on the tongue, a tribute to the rapper’s iconic name. The shoe is available at Sheikh . adidas Originals x Snoop Dog Source: Freshness © Albert Lin for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 8 comments | Add to del.icio.us |

A History of Celebrities Wearing the Air Jordan 9 Posted: 21 Jan 2011 03:13 PM PST Many people are known for rocking the Air Jordan 9, but ironically Michael Jordan is not one of them. When MJ hung up his sneakers in ’93 to get away from the game and hit the diamond his sneakers released but were never hooped in by the man himself. Never the less, the AJ 9 was still dubbed classic worn on court by the likes of Penny Hardaway and off court by Tupac Shakur. OG releases and spaced out retros have seen the retirement J land on the feet of many.
