Nike Air Force 1 NBA All-Star “East LA” Posted: 08 Feb 2011 01:13 PM PST Following the Nike All-Star “Hollywood” Series release information we gave you earlier, we have learned the “East LA” Nike Air Force 1 All-Star is now available at Nike’s online store, for $88. While other sneakers in the Nike All-Star LA Series feature bright, vibrant themes, this “East LA” Nike Air Force 1 possesses a very subtle scheme. Black leather and suede make up the majority of the upper, while wolf grey hints, such as the swoosh, heel tab and inner lining, provide nice color compliments. Other distinctive elements include the special, East LA tongue label and the translucent outsole. © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | No comment | Add to del.icio.us |
Solebox x Reebok Pump Omni Zone Posted: 08 Feb 2011 12:58 PM PST Additional photos of Solebox’s upcoming collaboration with Reebok on the Pump Omni Zone have surfaced on the web. Its most interesting feature is the light up detailing on the side panels which coincide perfectly with the other orange hints (tongue border, inner lining, hangtag). The predominance of the upper is colored in black and features multiple white and grey accents throughout. The Solebox x Reebok Pump Omni Zone will be available exclusively at Solebox during the first week of March 2011. Only 100 pairs will be available for purchase. Nike Lunar Wood+ Matte Silver/Challenge Red Posted: 08 Feb 2011 12:43 PM PST Dressed for the outdoors and ready for any run or walk, the Nike Lunar Wood+ is truly born out the phrase “Form follows function.” With a thick, tough mudguard wrapping all the way around the forefoot, this sneaker has plenty of life in it past the first time some guy steps on your toe or you have a run-in with a puddle. The Matte Silver base is elegantly contrasted by the numerous black panels, though it’s the Challenge Red Swoosh that really adds a splash of life to the overall look. Sitting underneath is a ribbed white Lunarlon midsole that’s further bolstered by a black rubber outsole for added life. This Nike is now available at select retailers, including Nice Kicks and Shop.NiceKicks.com. The Shadow Conspiracy x Vans Collection Posted: 08 Feb 2011 12:28 PM PST BMX brand The Shadow Conspiracy teamed up with Vans recently to launch a twosome of purpose-built kicks. As Ron Bonner explains on the partnership, “[The Shadow Conspiracy and Vans] really embody the same philosophy: ‘Keep is simple, stupid.’” The Brasco and Owens Hi were chosen for the collaboration and dressed in black leather and denim, making for a mean, function-first design. Both shoes have been upgraded for riding, as Vans Product Manager Sean Methven explains in the video above. Both kicks are available now at Shop.Vans.com. Posted: 08 Feb 2011 11:58 AM PST The Nuggets always seem to have the Lakers’ number. Maybe that’s because JR Smith is using their secret weapon, the Nike Zoom Kobe VI. New pictures show a better look at Smith’s iD pair. A white and silver upper features university blue accents and a white midsole. It’s hard to tell whether or not the branding and midsole accents are del sol or vegas gold, which could explain the origin of them as vegas gold is not an online option. What are your thoughts on JR’s Kobes? Tell us in the comment section. Source: Aaron Knows © Ian Stonebrook for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 4 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Nike “Hollywood” All-Star Pack Release Date Posted: 08 Feb 2011 11:21 AM PST Last week, we gave you a detailed look at the Nike All-Star "LA City Series" Pack designed by Erick Goto. The pack, which pays tribute to East LA, Orange County and Hollywood, includes a two Nike Zoom Hyperfuse Lows, a Nike Zoom Kobe VI and an Air Force 1 for each section. We have now learned the “Hollywood” Nike All-Star Collection will exclusively hit UNDFTD LA & SL tomorrow, February 9, 2011. The two Hyperfuse Lows feature a similar color scheme seen on the “3D” Nike Zoom Kobe VI, while the Air Force 1 is predominately constructed of white leather with multiple gold accents (swoosh, heel tab, inner lining). Is the “Hollywood” All-Star Collection better than the “East LA” and “Orange County” series? Source: UNDFTD © George Kiel III for NiceKicks.com, 2011. | Permalink | 3 comments | Add to del.icio.us |
Nike Blazer Mid “Foamposite” Ink Posted: 08 Feb 2011 10:58 AM PST Last year, Nike applied the beloved Foamposite look to the equally beloved Blazer. Little did we know it would be just the start of a long run of kicks to rock a the high tech look. The Blazer is back in a big way with this latest drop, which features an Ink faux-posite upper that shifts colors in the blink of an eye. Bouncing up and down the color spectrum, this sneaker is far more wearable than the less subtle versions that have come before, and is much more “eggplant.” The suede Swoosh, midfoot, forefoot and collar panels not only accentuate the upper, but the natural matte look gives this sneaker great depth. Arguably the best “Foamposite” casual shoe yet, this sneaker is available now at Nice Kicks and via Shop.NiceKicks.com. Bespoke Nike Air Force 1s by Edison Chen Posted: 08 Feb 2011 10:43 AM PST Lately, all-cork uppers have been a constant theme in the Bespoke realm of Air Force 1s. We first saw this element on one of the Nike Harajuku Bespoke designs followed by Show Ideez and Yasu Saegusa’s designs. Today, we take a look at two Edison Chen designed Bespokes which also use the cork attribute. One pair contains a clean, all-cork upper combined with a monochromatic-like gum bottom. Other features include goldenrod-like shoelaces/inner lining to match the all-cork upper. The other pair uses a slew of materials such as two types of denim (side panels, toe box, heel panel), a textured leather on the toe area and a zebra print-like leather on the midfoot. Cork appears on the swoosh, tongue tab and heel tab, while pony hair also makes an appearance on the tongue.
