| Nike Max Air BB 360 Low “All-Star” Collection Posted: 17 Feb 2011 01:58 PM PST The NBA All-Star Game is almost here and in fitting fashion, Nike has released its collection of kicks just for the game. The signature models are releasing in stores today and are long gone from online accounts, but the new Max Air BB 360 Low is available in both “East” and “West” trims. This sneaker, which is making its retail debut in these two colorways, features a Max Air sole, Flywire upper and lowered cut. Its construction has led many to draw comparisons to the Air Max LeBron VII Low. These colorways feature either Treasure Blue or Challenge Red majorities depending on the conference represented. The material used shifts its hue depending on your viewing angle, adding a very unique look to this twosome. You can grab either now, just in time for the big game this weekend, at Nike Store now. Sure, there are lots of Jordans as always, but we catch some seldom seen celebs along with some rare and even unreleased kicks leaving us with a laundry list of questions. Is Pharrell back on the sneaker market? Kanye back on kicks? Did Theophilus swag out on Letterman? Is Drake getting Jordans early? Did The-Dream break out a classic? Who stole Tyler’s shoes? | Converse Chuck Taylor Hi “Fruit” Pack Posted: 17 Feb 2011 01:03 PM PST Following the “Leopard Print” Converse Chuck Taylor we showed you last week, we have now spotted another interesting take on the classic Chuck Taylor. This two-sneaker grouping, dubbed the “Fruit” Pack, features one strawberry-laced Chuck Taylor and one lemon Chuck Taylor. In detail each pair contains an all-over print of the respective fruit. White accents include white laces, a white toe cap and a white vulcanized rubber sole. | adidas Originals ZX 789 Running White/Orange Posted: 17 Feb 2011 12:28 PM PST The worst of winter weather looks to be past us; time to get out the white kicks. adidas Originals is helping the cause with its latest runner drop, this ZX 789. Rocking a Running White mesh quarter panel and leather base, this sneaker also features a healthy amount of Aluminum textured suede. The midsole, which features Torsion technology, is the same hue. What really makes this sneaker stand out for spring though is its orange accents and plastic heel cup. Finally, filling out the three stripes on the side is the same print seen on the Medium Lead/Electric pair that release early this week. | Posted: 17 Feb 2011 11:58 AM PST Diggy Simmons has dreams. Big dreams. He takes hip hop and fashion very seriously and is set on taking both to another level. Rather than rely on collaborations, product seeding, or even a signature collection, Diggy has gone another route. He’s created a brand. Chivalrous Culture officially launched its first model, the Hamachi, in four colorways. Exactly how involved is Diggy in the brand? Is the Hamachi just the beginning? What separates Chiv Culture from the pack? All these questions answered and more as we catch up with Diggy. Nice Kicks: For those that don’t know about Chivalrous Culture explain the brand. Diggy Simmons: Chivalrous Culture is my sneaker brand. We’re just starting right now, we put out four colorways that are out now at chivculture.com. We just put out 2,011 pairs online to start off the new year and then they’ll start going to retailers. Nice Kicks: How would you describe your role in the brand? Diggy Simmons: I’m everything; I’m way more involved than your normal celebrity that’s engaged in a brand. I’m there creatively from the way the sneaker looks to the major colorways. I’m there mostly for the creative parts and obviously (I wanted) to be in the right retailers. Nice Kicks: Did any sneakers inspire the design of the Hamachi? Diggy Simmons: The sneakers were inspired by the Gourmet, but the real thing behind Chiv Culture is that it’s more of a sneaker’s sneaker. You’ve got your white and your black which are your basic colors and then you have burgundy which is more of a style color. We had before the Brown/Orange colorway, we’re gonna bring that back, and then we also have the grey suede which a lot of people like. Just colorways that I thought would be dope coming into the winter and spring time.  Chivalrous Culture Hamachi Lineup Nice Kicks: Chivalrous Culture is said to bring runway fashion to the street. Do you feel the two had been separated? Diggy Simmons: I don’t think that they were separated but i think there are a lot more things that can really bring it together and I think quality is one thing that may lack from some others brands. (Quality) just needs to keep being brought to the forefront. The sneakers are affordable even though the quality is great. That’s what it is and that’s what’s good for the streets. Nice Kicks: So many sneaker lovers are obsessed with the past, what are the challenges of a new brand? Diggy Simmons: You just have to bring new things to the table and as you go along in the future, these colorways that are out now are gonna be the ones that people, God willing, will be bidding for five years from now. It depends on how innovative the new brand is and I think Chiv Culture is that. Nice Kicks: How do you see the brand evolving in the future? Diggy Simmons: Apparel in the future and also other designs of the sneaker. We have a low top sneaker, two Chukka boots, and other good designs that will sway away from sneakers like boat shoes. “(Quality) just needs to keep being brought to the forefront. The sneakers are affordable even though the quality is great. That’s what it is and that’s what’s good for the streets.”-Diggy SimmonsNice Kicks: When can our readers expect to see those products on the market? Diggy Simmons: They’ll be in retailers back to school 2011. Nice Kicks: Who would be your dream to see wearing Chiv Culture? Diggy Simmons: All the people from designers to rappers that inspire me. Jay would be crazy, Kanye, I think it would be cool to see the kicks on people like those guys that are just innovators to hip hop culture in general. | Kendrick Lamar Meet & Greet at Nice Kicks Posted: 17 Feb 2011 10:43 AM PST Before Kendrick Lamar hits the stage in Austin tonight, the young MC will be meeting and greeting fans at Nice Kicks. Kendrick will be in attendance from 5-7 PM and head out just in time to make his eight o’clock show at Red 7. There will be free Lone Star beer, music and of course, tons of nice kicks. Tickets for the show are still available from Score More for $15 and will be available at the in-store. In the spirit of All-Star Weekend, adidas NBA stars Dwight Howard and Derrick Rose will be appearing at Foot Locker stores.
