In Retrospect: Air Jordan 2 “3M” Posted: 27 Feb 2011 12:43 PM PST Around this time last year (February 27, 2010 to be exact), Jordan Brand released its first of nine Air Jordan 2 retros last year. Not only was this the first 2010 released Air Jordan 2 retro, it was arguably the most subtle out of all the other colorways (“Candy” Pack, Vashtie Kola x Air Jordan 2). Its white leather upper is contrasted nicely by multiple natural grey, metallic silver and reflective 3M accents. Did you purchase the Air Jordan 2 “3M” , and was it worth $135? If not, are you wishing you would have snagged this release last February? How does this particular colorway of the Air Jordan 2 “3M” compare to other colorways of MJ’s second signature sneaker that released last year (“OG”, University Blue/Black, “Premio”)? These Royal Mids maintain a high-top cut with large perforations all throughout the upper to add ventilation. Kicks On Court Weekly Recap – Fab Five Posted: 26 Feb 2011 01:28 PM PST Our daily Kicks On Court column spotted some very historic and shocking moments this week on the NBA hardwoods. Blake Griffin debuted the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 in the 2011 NBA All-Star Game and Kobe Bryant won the All-Star Game MVP by scoring 37 points and grabbing 14 boards in the “All-Star” Nike Zoom Kobe VI. John Wall started the second half of the season in the Reebok Question and Derrick Rose took break from his signature model and rocked the adidas Crazy 8. Lastly, Ty Lawson paid tribute to Jason Kidd with a mid-90s sneaker. Wall laced up the a blue/white-gold Reebok Question to start the second half of the 2010-2011 NBA season. Kobe Bryant wearing the Nike Zoom Kobe VI Kobe Bryant made sure he was the focal point in the NBA All-Star Game at the Staples Center. En route to winning the All-Star Game MVP trophy, Bryant scored 37 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while wearing the Nike Zoom Kobe VI “All-Star” Blake Griffin wearing the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 Blake Griffin garnered more attention in last Saturday’s Dunk Contest (he wore the Nike Air Max Fly By); yet, he waited to debut the Nike Hyperdunk 2011 on court in the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. In the same sense as John Wall, it’s always cool to see players take a break from their signature models sometimes. Derrick Rose laced up the ‘University Red’ adidas Crazy 8 against the Miami Heat on Thursday night. It’s always nice to see today’s NBA players rocking sneakers that were popular in the mid 90s. The Nike Zoom Uptempo V was worn by Jason Kidd as a signature model in 1997.
